Vidigest privacy policy

Vidigest has no server and collects no data for its developer. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.

Video transcript
When you click "Download", the transcript shown on the video page is saved to your computer and nothing is sent anywhere. When you click "Summarize", that transcript is sent directly to the AI provider you selected in the settings (for example Google, Mistral AI, Infomaniak, or your own Ollama server). It is sent nowhere else, and only when you ask for it.

API key and settings
Your API key, the selected provider, and the summary length and language are stored locally in your browser (extension storage). They are not synced and are only sent to the relevant provider to authenticate your requests.

History
The last 50 summaries (title, video ID, date, summary) are kept locally in your browser. You can delete them at any time with the "Clear history" button.

Third-party providers
Data sent to an AI provider is subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms of use, which you accept when you create your key. Vidigest has no agreement with these providers.

Deletion
Uninstalling the extension deletes its local data. You can also revoke your API key directly with your provider.
