What is sent: when you run a tool or send a message, the text, title and address of the page, selection, document or tab you chose go to the VU Education Lab's server in the EU (Microsoft Azure, Netherlands and Sweden), are processed by an AI model in the EU and are not stored. In the chat, the AI may run one web search with Microsoft Bing using a few search words it writes; page text is never sent to Bing.

What is stored on the server: your email address (sign-in), hashed sign-in codes and session tokens with the first three parts of your IP address, and daily usage counts. Unused accounts are deleted after 12 months. Course profiles, settings and your history of results stay in your browser.

Optional: anonymous usage statistics (tool and export names, error codes; never page text or your address) to PostHog in the EU, only if you allow "technical and interaction data".

Your rights: download your data in Settings › Privacy; delete your account there or via servicedesk.it@vu.nl. Complaints: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
