Latest version
Version 0.4.0
Released Oct 25, 2026 - 93.37 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later- Same-page check: playback is only transferred when both have the same page open
(YouTube is compared by video ID, ignoring parameters like t= or
utm_). When a friend goes to a different video, synchronization stops and
"friend is on a different page" is displayed on the page with buttons Go there / Send mine. - Automatic pairing: when both have the same page open with a ready
player, they connect automatically, without "Send this tab". The friend does not
learn about other tabs, only address hashes are compared. - Persistent checks: both the popup and the page banner show the connection status (including latency),
whether the friend is on the same page, the status of both players, and why synchronization
is currently not running. Unresponsive connections are marked as unresponsive. - Chat: 💬 button on the right edge of the page (also in fullscreen, or Alt+C),
quick messages (e.g., "Pausing, give me 5 mins", "Brb / Bathroom") and custom text.
Messages with pause also pause the video. The message shows ✓ delivered / ✗ not delivered,
history is available in both the chat and the popup, and incoming messages stay on screen for 12 s. - Nickname can be changed while the connection is active, it saves as you type, and the friend learns about the change
immediately. - Security: invitation expires after 30 minutes (countdown in the popup), room code has
12 characters, the host must approve each joining user, messages before approval
are ignored, and five consecutive invalid codes temporarily block further attempts. - Security: addresses from the friend are validated (http/https only, no local
addresses or login credentials), text and events are verified, message rate is
limited, and both "open without asking" and "go to friend's page" apply only until
disconnection. - Manual connection fix: double-clicking or pasting a second answer no longer
causes the "Cannot set remote answer in state stable" error, code generation has
a timeout, and buttons are locked during processing. - Code split into smaller files (conn.js, peer.js, sync.js, util.js, content-ui.js).

Version 0.3.0
Released Oct 21, 2026 - 78.27 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later- New connection via room code: one person clicks “Create Room” and sends
the other a short code (e.g., abcd-efgh); the other enters it, and the connection is established within
a few seconds. This eliminates the need to copy long codes and removes the time limit within which
the code had to be entered. - The public intermediary PeerJS is used to connect the two browsers
(the library is included inlib/). Data (video events, messages, tab addresses)
is exchanged directly between you. Only one friend can join the room at a time. - Manual connection by copying codes remains as a fallback (“Manual connection without
a server…”). Fixed: the session no longer ends just because the other party enters the code
later, and a clear error message appears after 45 seconds without a connection. - Friend information and player status are sent repeatedly to ensure that the first
message after establishing a connection cannot be lost. - Connection errors are displayed directly in a pop-up.

white, and a round “play” button in a glowing core (#ffc233). - Status indicators (connected, player ready) are outside the panels and always include text.
Statuses remain unchanged: green = ready, orange = waiting. - Bubbles on the page in the new color palette: messages from friends have a magma stripe,
your own are bone white. - Minimum Firefox version increased to 140 (Android 142) due to
data_collection_permissions.
