Xensam Web App Inventory helps organisations see which business web applications are used on managed devices, so they can manage software licences and meet compliance requirements.

The extension passes the URL of the active browser tab to the Xensam agent installed on the same computer. The agent matches it against known business applications relevant to licensing and records usage only for those. URLs that do not match a business application are discarded and not stored.

What it does not do:
• Read page content, form input or keystrokes
• Make network requests. It communicates only with the local Xensam agent.
• Require anything from users. It has no interface and runs in the background.

Why an extension?
Browser and operating system security restrictions can prevent the agent from reliably detecting the active URL on its own. The extension provides it in a supported, transparent way.
