- Rated 1 out of 5by stricta, 8 years agoDepuis la dernière mise à jour, impossible de configurer plusieurs comptes, et ne garde même plus les données d'un seul compte apres la fermeture de firefox
Dommage car j'utilisais cette extension depuis plusieurs années - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12688629, 8 years agoHasta la versión 3.X.X la verdad que la apicación iba fenomenal, pero tras la nueva actualización, va mal mal mal mal mal, no actualiza, no sincroniza, no deja el multi-login,...
- Rated 5 out of 5by BlackWizard, 8 years agoMultiple login issue IS addressed in 4.0.2 and it works fine. If you updated from 3.x, then reinstall the old version from the version history, export the settings before updating, and then re-import them after updating to 4.0.2.
In using the extension, I didn't really use it to do anything fancy - so everything seems to work the way it did. Only difference I can see is that it takes one more click to open up all the mail accounts at once; but I used to do that by accident all the time, so I don't know if this is something that I am too unhappy about.
Kudos to the developer for taking the time and effort to port it to the new standard. Many developers in the past have abandoned development on their extensions when something like this happened, and I am just grateful that this one is going to survive another generation of firefox.
That said, I DO wish more of a warning was given so that people did not think all their mail account setting went up in smoke, but I don't know what the developer could have done. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12687455, 8 years ago操作の挙動が変わってしまい、アイコンクリックからHotmailを開くのに、メニューを経由しなければならず、1つアクションが増えました。バージョン3までの挙動と同じようにしていただきたいです。
- Rated 5 out of 5by Stefan, 8 years agoI had problem with last version, just reverted one before version 4, its 3.5 something and everything is working like a charm! Thank you for this add on developer. And this also brings back the deleted accounts....
- Rated 1 out of 5by Drioglann, 8 years agoHave used this for years but new version is completely useless. I keep uninstalling it and re-installing older version (thanks to previous poster <3 ) but somehow Firefox is on automatic update and I keep having to re-do the process. ANNOYING!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Gabor Nagy, 8 years agoLatest version don't work. Everyday log out my Hotmail account. I sign in, I setting, next time log out.
- Rated 1 out of 5by mshumai, 8 years agoThe latest update (4.0.2) broke the extension functions. Here are instructions for rolling back to the previous version (3.5.23).
1. Uninstall X-notifier (remove) from your extensions.
2. Search for X-notifier in the firefox addons.
3. On the X-notifier page, do NOT click 'add to Firefox'. Instead scroll down and click 'Version Information'.
4. Click 'see complete version history'.
5. Mouse-over Version 3.5.23 and click 'add to Firefox'.
6. Restart Firefox and the old functionality is restored.
However, since Firefox automatically installs add-on updates, you will need to disable this so that X-notifier does not simply install 4.0.2 again. Here are the instructions:
1. Go to about:config in address bar. Accept the risk.
2. Search for extensions.update.autoUpdateDefault and toggle it to be disabled.
Done! Hope this helps. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 10206821, 8 years agoAOL login hasn't worked in Firefox for Months! I wish BlueMail had a Firefox extension.
- Rated 1 out of 5by NJCurmudgeon, 8 years agoThe solution for now appears to be to roll back the add-on to a previous version that worked for you. As has been posted before, the link to do that is:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/xnotifier/versions/
However, you also need to turn off the auto updates so it doesn't return to the version you don't want. People have been asking how to do that, and I wasn't sure myself, so here's the answer:
From the menu at the top of Firefox, go to Add-ons in the drop-down menu under Tools. That opens your Add-Ons Manager page.
Scroll to X-notifier and click on More.
Scroll to the bottom of that page and you should see Automatic Updates at the top of a list of options. Check the Off button.
That should keep it from updating until the issues are resolved. - Rated 5 out of 5by simple.man, 8 years agoI updated this new version in mozilla and after clear history this addon is asking me to enter the password again, but before it fine and never asked me to enter password. Another issue is we have to use only one Yahoo id otherwise yahoo ask us to change password again, i think that is because of the yahoo security risk. so please can you fix these issue.
- Rated 5 out of 5by BALTAGY, 8 years agoI installed v4.0.2 and it's working fine now with me, Only adding 2 Yahoo accounts not working fine, sometimes Yahoo ask me to change my password and no option to open the Email without it but if i wait for sometime i can open it normally, i think it's not the addon problem, Thanks for your work
BTW i'm using FT DeepDark theme and the addon menu looks black like the theme is there a way you can change the colors or add option so we can change colors?
Thanks Again - Rated 5 out of 5by godio, 8 years agoI am saddened to see so many raging reviews and all my sympathy goes to the poor developer.
Please folks, take a little time to understand the reasons behind the change: mozilla deprecated and will perhaps remove the internal mechanism on which the dear old x-notifier relied upon. The developer has to deal with new APIs which are not necesseraly as powerful and permissive... and he's doing this mainly for passion (99% of you, me included, haven't donated a cent for this software).
So why bash him?? Just revert to the older version (no data lost) and disable automatic updates, it's as simple as that! - Rated 1 out of 5by Syxguns, 8 years agoWhat happened to this plugin? It doesn't save my data and after last update it erased all of my 7 email addresses!! Please fix this ASAP.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12683163, 8 years agoWhy dont you test it before slapping the professionals about giving one star.
yes everything get erased and it is not a big major deal. But the fact stand that it is buggy because even when you redo your settings there is no x-notifier toolbar at all. Not even in the settings showing the option of adding the toolbar. So this one is very important to have if you want to use the application. Test it and see if you like to give a 5 stars on his latest release to the public. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12684121, 8 years agoAnd look these kids keep posting 'bad update' one stars reviews.
Can you ever try to READ?
THIS IS NOT DEVELOPER FAULT THAT YOU LOST YOUR LOGINS/PASSWORDS.
Blame Mozilla because they force developers to use WebExtension API in newest versions of Firefox.
And blame yourself because you ignored warning from developer. - Rated 1 out of 5by CK, 8 years agoI have used X-notifier for years. The new update does not work. I rolled it back as others have suggested and it seems to be working. Guys, come on, you can do better than this.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12685125, 8 years agoIt's the first time i post a review.
This new update isn't a good update:
1) Don't works with the update of FF => we loose all the data about this addon (!!!!!!!!)
2) it's impossible to disable the update, so for each update of FF...we lose averything!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 ....but thank you for this addon....so how could we refuse update
we are really very desapointed because it's a great great extension (and indispensable!)
Please dear friend, make something for us. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12685128, 8 years agoIt is very strange what happened on updated addon But, lucky me , I have backup at old version of x-notifier.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12685078, 8 years agoHi,
This is the first time I post a review,I can't imagine a day without X-noitifier, you do a great work,.... but this new update isn't that good, I prefer expand mail list with right click and the old options panel was better, Thanks for this great & indispensable extension - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12685000, 8 years agoDear Friends ,
How I disable the option to download updates ? Thank you
