by anon, 5 years agoHey love the extension been just what I needed to make youtube usable with the new theme. Small bug that just started today the cog wheel, full screen option and subtitle option has been disappearing. Sometimes it doesn't disappear right away and other times it does I thought it was caused by going into full screen mode then back out but it just happened to a video that I never went into full screen mode with. It just started happening today so it might have something to do with your latest update. Hope you can fix this soon. https://imgur.com/a/nFWS0wI
EDIT: It works now very good job! EDIT of the EDIT seems to work for a while then does the same thing that it was doing in the picture I linked. But going fullscreen then out fixes it for a while.

Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for the review and a bug report! Regarding this issue I was aware that going into theater or fullscreen modes and back breaks it but it's weird that it can happen without any user action. I'll try to fix the bug that occurs when changing modes today, however the scenario where is occurs by itself will require more investigation.
EDIT: Try now.
EDIT2: Saw your edit of the edit quite late but I've noticed it breaks when zooming or resizing the page. I'll try to fix it soon.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Dorothy, 16 days agoThis extension is just pure bliss. Seriously, this made me love YouTube even more than I do anyways now and I can just feel myself getting whole every minute while using this extension. You should absolutely get this right now, however you have to set it up, otherwise it looks REALLY oldschool!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Pradeen Krishna, 16 days agoWhat an amazing extension is this. My YouTube is now blazingly fast. Please keep doing the good work in the name of Humanity that companies like google fails because they prioritize profits over people. This extension also made YouTube on Firefox faster because google is known to slow down YouTube on non-chromium based browsers through their Polymer JS framework.

- Rated 4 out of 5by callum, a month agoVery good extension that makes the UI much easier to wrangle, but it sometimes disables the ability to pop out the video from the tab which is very annoying. Otherwise really good product.
(If I'm just missing a setting then I am really sorry) - Rated 5 out of 5by killjoyyzz, a month ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Anon, a month agoGreat add-on, removes much of the ugliness that the "modern" UI tries to force on you.
If I could make a request, could you add the option to hide the "includes paid promotion" pop-up that appears when you hover over certain thumbnails? With the smaller thumbnails that this add-on gives you, it makes it very easy to accidentally click that pop-up instead of the video when you want to watch something. - Rated 5 out of 5by Vin, a month ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by StewCrimps, a month agoHated so much the new icons that I actually wanted to use this type of extension. YouTube is getting trashier by the year.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Max, a month agoThis add-on would be good... if it actually would modify the video loader. The new video loader with huge buttons looks weird with the old YouTube UI. Other than, everything else seems to work fine.
- Rated 3 out of 5by CodeIcannot, a month agoThis addon modifies a lot of things on Youtube's pages, but I only consider one of those changes a good thing. The others are odd, or even bad.
First the positive one: it allows you to view more thumbnails on the mainpage. That's great!
However, along with that singular positive thing, comes a lot of questionable ones. For example, the default settings make everything about the page layouts look older, less modern, even ugly. Why is that? And even though you can disable some of these changes, there are things that it messes up permanently. Like the latest Youtube posts. They get truncated to just a few words each, and there is no option to change that behaviour. Also, playlist thumbnails are unaffected (= remain huge) despite everything else shrinking. The layouts just become erratic and mismatched.
I would not recommend this addon. If you just want to see more video thumbnails on Youtube's main page, there are better ways to achieve that. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19483157, a month agoAn extremely useful addition to the youtube experience, although I really wish you could change the video player itself with it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Marco, 3 months agoNot only gave me the possibility of going back to a more usable, nostalgic and overall better looking UI but surprisingly also made youtube to work better and load faster in most instances - in the process making even more evident how much of a bad job the people behind YT are doing with all the bloat "updates" and terrible design choices. Great, great add-on
