- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17181677, 7 days agoDespite occasionally breaking minor cosmetic features whenever Youtube's UX designers remember that they need to justify their existence, this addon keeps its core functions quite well.
The newest update, however, seems to have broken some things:
- Homepage video tiles appear to have their contents smashed together too much, to the point where channel avatars and titles touch the bottom of the thumbnails. Ditto for channel video subpages and the navigation bars of channel pages.
- Channel video pages have too much side padding on high resolution monitors, causing the video tiles to be forced together and compressed. I don't know if this is from the addon or the way the page works but if the padding could be done away with, the channel pages would look much better.
- On the video page, the channel description changes that used to trigger with the "Extra layout changes" option toggled ON seems forced to always be enabled as long as the addon is active. This wouldn't be much of a problem but often the rearranged icons and interactable tiles in the decsription are smashed together, seemingly at random.
- Video category selection tiles in the right side video sidebar appear much reduced in size, barely fitting their text and being less convenient to click.
- This is not an outright complaint but an option for this would be appreciated for navigability, but the addon suppressing the reddit style comment reply line and nesting indicators make visual navigation of the comments more difficult. It was probably the one UI change that Youtube's team didn't fumble the dog on. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18989373, 9 days agoComment margins need to be fixed, but I like the look overall.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Jadiel:], a month agoExcellent Extension For Changing The Ui To How I Prefer It<3
All Though It's Been 6 Months Since It's Gotten Updated, And Certain Elements Are Broken Due To The Changes Youtube Has Done. - Rated 4 out of 5by be-each, 5 months agoReally excited to have found this extension. I tweak major sites like Gmail with Stylebot all the time. It's great we can make selections for this extension. Can you please add an option for rounded corners for the video thumbnails?
- Rated 4 out of 5by Civilyc, 5 months agoAmazing, but the only bad side of it is that the video views are still abbreviated. Other than that the addon is truly delightful.
- Rated 4 out of 5by callum, 7 months agoVery good extension that makes the UI much easier to wrangle, but it sometimes disables the ability to pop out the video from the tab which is very annoying. Otherwise really good product.
(If I'm just missing a setting then I am really sorry) - Rated 4 out of 5by Paul, 10 months agoLove how it looks, however I downloaded this because I don't like the new floating video player icons, would it be possible to change them? Or at least make it so that the bottom of the icons doesn't get cut off, it does that on my machine.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19162117, 10 months agoLove it. One big problem though, some days ago (forgot when), the shuffle button in the Playlist (When watching from the playlist, next to the loop button) is just gone. Turned the extension on & off to confirm, and yes the extension itself is the problem. Turning settings on & off did not fix the issue.
Edit: This issue isn't fixed as of 8/20. Won't change rating, this is just to keep the issue known - Rated 4 out of 5by ce9999, a year agoSeems like a pretty cool extension, I mainly am trying it out because I dislike YouTube's new, gigantic thumbnails on the home page and subscriptions page. YouTube Redux fixes that problem on the home page, but not in the Subscriptions page as far as I can tell. It *does* reduce the size of the thumbnails, which is nice, but only to a medium size, and there are still only 3 columns. Having that feature work on the Subscriptions page would be awesome, so I hope it is added at some point. On the totally positive side, I'm not seeing ANY shorts thumbnails now, which is fantastic!
Developer response
posted a year agoNumber of video thumbnails per row will work on the Subscriptions page with the upcoming update, thanks! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13974913, a year agoSometimes video views and upload date doesn't load.

- Rated 4 out of 5by nerfcats, a year agoReally cool and brings me back to how youtube was like in 2016 where it showed so much more videos on one screen. Only problem I found is that some elements of the UI are still modern and havent been converted yet.
- Rated 4 out of 5by 10Meisterbaelle, 2 years agoIt recreates the old YouTube layout pretty well and has a lot of customization options, however, it breaks very often due to changes by YouTube. This is obviously not the developer's fault, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a problem. More frequent updates would probably help, but since it's a free project, it's understandable that maintaining it is hard.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Ravi, 2 years agoHmmm, it's just a lil' laggy but it could be how many things I have activated unsure! The dislikes don't appear unfortunately also
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18366740, 2 years agoGood extension (barring just the inability to completely remove shorts from your subscription page as far as I can tell), just needs time to be updated and cover up the latest of a long line of bullets youtube has put into its own head
- Rated 4 out of 5by tr, 2 years agoAs of a few months ago, whenever I click onto a new video the view count and date of upload carries over and stacks with the next one. Has been a very annoying issue and can only be fixed by refreshing the page. Not a big deal at all but very annoying, hopefully it will be fixed soon. A nearly perfect extension with just one flaw.
- Rated 4 out of 5by comander1242, 2 years agoOkay I hope you better update as fast since Youtube are changing UI after update on channel page i still hate round circle when they live i hope you better to update for that

- Rated 4 out of 5by Hysminea, 2 years agoI'm going to give this extension 4 stars because, I use it and like it a lot, it's great and I hope they continue to improve it, but I cant give this 5 stars because; I'm writing this review to raise awareness to a huge bug that's been making the experience for this extension way worse. You see, for some reasons when I click on another video using this extension, it keeps the date of upload and view count of the previous videos. In fact, if I don't refresh the page, it just piles and piles on the upload dates and view counts until there are 10 different view counts that reach the other end of the page, and 10 different dates of upload listed below the video. Please fix this. Other than that, cool extension
- Rated 4 out of 5by SiegeSquirrel, 3 years agobeen using it for a few months, worked great up until today, but now the bar below the video is broken (likes formatted oddly, can't view description, channel icon completely gone)
- Rated 4 out of 5by AedraRIsing, 3 years agoYouTube Redux is a wonderful extension that allows me to enjoy YouTube while not having to put up with it's bad newer UI design! There are a few features I'd add, such as being able to hide the newer meaningless additions YouTube placed under video descriptions, but the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it has yet to be updated to re-support Return YouTube Dislikes after YouTube's recent update.
