- Rated 3 out of 5by DON, 4 years agoYeah it used to be nicely separated in sections like "recommended for you", "popular in your country" or other topics. There is no grouping anymore, just an endless stream of thumbnails (in 6 columns, admittedly). Also the side panel used to be closed/minimised by default. The only thing that changed is that I updated the browser (and add-ons).

posted 4 years agoEdit to answer the edit: I haven't seen this sections myself for months. It's pretty much always been just a stream of thumbnails in Polymer for me. Same with the side panel being always open. Maybe you're using some other add-on/userscript that used to provide these features? - Rated 3 out of 5by Bosko Lasta, 4 years agoThis is a good extension but when i try to change the logo on Firefox 56 it just dosen't work. Why!? Also please add more minor old features, like the like and dislike button.
- Rated 5 out of 5by El Españistaní, 4 years agoThis is the best extension for recreate the old gorgeous YouTube design, with a lot of extras and a lot of updates to improve it.
If I could I would donate to him for his great work :) - Rated 4 out of 5by gamer.31, 4 years agoExcellent add-on. Unfortunately, it doesn't save settings (at least in private windows that is). I'm using FF portable, but I don't think that's the issue. If this gets fixed, it would be excellent, it just resets the settings on browser restart every time when you use private windows by default. I haven't tried regular windows.
Developer response
posted 4 years agoGiven how the extension stores settings it's expected behavior that it will clear settings on every private window restart. I may rework it in the future but unfortunately it won't happen soon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Pê, 4 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15169675, 4 years agocould you fix these empty spaces when using extra layout changes? http://prntscr.com/11cnmo3
or otherwise remove channel's avatar pictures on home page without extra changes?
25.04 Appreciate the implemented changes.Developer response
posted 4 years agoI specifically added this empty space to match how it looked like in old layout although the issue is that it doesn't scale with window size but yeah, I'll look into fixing it and then adding an option to remove it alongside the option to hide avatars on home page. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16420029, 4 years agoVery good extension. But one problem has appeared recently: the drop down menu is trying to display the options in a wider format than the menu allows, so half the menu is cut off and inaccessible. I've turned each of my other extensions off individually and checked to see if one of them was interfering, but nothing worked. Here's a link to an image of what the drop down menu is doing.

posted 4 years agoThanks for letting me know about that issue. I'll try to have it fixed soon. For now as a workaround you can restore the extension back to the toolbar, make some changes in its settings and hide it again within the 'More tools...' button. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16188753, 4 years ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Mephiston, 4 years agoIts decent enough, but it WILL NOT SAVE the number of videos in the main youtube screen. I set it to five, and it always defaults to 6, no matter how many times i reinstall the addon, or restart firefox. So just be aware it does have its issues.
Developer response
posted 4 years agoSome people noted that using the Refresh Firefox feature solved this issue. I have no idea why it happens as the extension's settings are simply stored in local storage but I'll see about moving it to extension API instead. - Rated 2 out of 5by baruteas, 4 years agoWell,
I gave a try to this extension, hoping to have the good experience of
old YouTube.
However, other than some visual changes, i didn't noticed a difference
in performance. YouTube still sucks the same..
Slow loading with high cpu & memory rates, 2-3 sec to go full screen
and vice versa, showing black during this transition, etc etc..
There is also something very irritating: it doesn't retain its settings. If i
close all YT pages and later on i go again on a YT page, i find all settings
to have been reset to defaults.
I'm afraid we have to say bye bye to old, good YouTube. For ever..
The exact same as new Facebook.
It looks like they compete each other, which one of the 2 will be the worst.. - Rated 5 out of 5by lightbeam, 4 years agoWorks amazing! It's really nostalgic seeing YouTube without all the ugly oversized rounded icons again!
I do have one feature request (If possible): Could you add an option to have the "Your Channel" button on the left side of the screen like it used to be?
Edit: Oh well, that's alright. Still a great extension!Developer response
posted 4 years agoI'll look into it, thanks!
Edit: It's possible but, to keep it short, it can't be done easily. As this feature can already be accessed quickly via Avatar button, implementing it properly proves to be not feasible. - Rated 5 out of 5by Dakart, 4 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by anon, 4 years agoHey love the extension been just what I needed to make youtube usable with the new theme. Small bug that just started today the cog wheel, full screen option and subtitle option has been disappearing. Sometimes it doesn't disappear right away and other times it does I thought it was caused by going into full screen mode then back out but it just happened to a video that I never went into full screen mode with. It just started happening today so it might have something to do with your latest update. Hope you can fix this soon. https://imgur.com/a/nFWS0wI
EDIT: It works now very good job! EDIT of the EDIT seems to work for a while then does the same thing that it was doing in the picture I linked. But going fullscreen then out fixes it for a while.Developer response
posted 4 years agoThanks for the review and a bug report! Regarding this issue I was aware that going into theater or fullscreen modes and back breaks it but it's weird that it can happen without any user action. I'll try to fix the bug that occurs when changing modes today, however the scenario where is occurs by itself will require more investigation.
EDIT: Try now.
EDIT2: Saw your edit of the edit quite late but I've noticed it breaks when zooming or resizing the page. I'll try to fix it soon. - Rated 5 out of 5by JD, 4 years ago

The old youtube layout so far has a high degree of perfection and is wonderful.
I am very satisfied with the use of the pillar box.
One suggestion, but I'd be happy if youtube menus could always be open on the same page.
We also need to fix an issue where the end of the progress bar is choppy when using a small video player.
December 24: Addendum
It is said that it has been fixed, but it has not been fixed as of 12/24.
4/5 will be cut off like the attached image.

Thanks for the quick fix of the progress bar.
I am facing a new problem.
This is a serious problem for me.
From version 1.3.5 or later, you have to wait up to 10 seconds to load the next video.
No symptom was seen in previous versions.
It may be displayed immediately.
As for my symptom, the display from the top page is always awaited.
1080P → 1080P etc. will be displayed immediately.
1080P → 480P tends to occur, but the cause has not been identified.

All the problems I had in Ver1.6.3 have been cleared.
Thank you.
I appreciate it very much.Developer response
posted 4 years agoJust wanted to let you know that progress bar has been fixed. Cheers!
EDIT: Thanks for the updates, I just looked into the issues you mentioned and sadly I cannot reproduce them. I even tried setting my YT language and region to JP and I verified it on the same video you linked but nothing breaks. If it requires some specific steps for the bug to occur then let me know. Also check if some other extensions or userscripts aren't interfering with YouTube Redux. It also appears that recently YouTube got some updates that introduced various bugs by itself so there could be stuff broken that's not related to the extension. Anyway I'll investigate further to see what could cause the long loading times since 1.3.5.
Unfortunately I'm not getting any notifications about review edits so I missed that - feel free to contact me via email or reddit thread that's linked on the extension page.
