by DiamondTiki, 8 months agoI've been looking for something like this for months, and I'd gotten nearly annoyed enough to figure out how to code it myself. But now I don't have to.
In general, always be careful of zero-review extensions. But I've checked the source code of what gets actually installed (it's the same as on the github link) - it's tiny, basic javascript that clearly only scrubs the links on the local page you load on your browser for the stuff the description says, and does nothing else.
Does exactly what it says and nothing else, removes yet another hostile/nonsense design element of YouTube, and even the share with timestamp feature still works when you actually want such a link. This is exactly what the open internet was made for. Thank you. Five stars.

posted 5 days agoI'll try and investigate how to improve this, but I also noticed some issues myself recently ... I usually open links via mmb (open in new tab) by default so I noticed a bit late but even if the URL gets changed, they automatically re-append the timestamp if you click on youtube thumbnails with lmb.
And on a separate note, they also seem to aggressively re-generate the url with as much bs as possible, as when I mouse over a thumbnail repeatedly I can see the URL previewer on bottom left of my browser change between having &pp=.... and getting cleaned.
