Cove Download Manager integrates with Firefox to speed up downloads using aria2's multi-connection download engine. When enabled, supported downloads are automatically intercepted and sent to the Cove desktop application, where files can be split across multiple connections for faster download speeds.
Firefox Permissions & Privacy
Firefox may display a permission warning stating that Cove can "Access your data for all websites." This permission is required because Cove needs to recognize download links and supported media across the websites you visit.
Cove uses this access only for download-related features, including detecting downloadable links and media and passing the download URL, cookies, and referrer information to the local Cove Download Manager application when needed for a download.
Cove does not use this permission to collect passwords, form entries, messages, or other unrelated page content, and it does not track your browsing activity.
Features
In-page Video Downloads
Hover over an HTML5 video and a floating "Download with Cove" button appears in the corner of the player.
One click sends the detected video to Cove along with the page's cookies and referrer information when required. Direct MP4 and WebM sources are supported. On Firefox, Cove can also detect supported HLS (M3U8) streams.
Nothing downloads from the in-page video button without an explicit click, and DRM-protected media is never touched.
