来自 Steve Turner, 9 年前It works as claimed, but I had to disable it because it caused significant performance problems with regular browsing activity. Simple scrolling operations on commonly-used web pages (e.g., Facebook) became annoyingly sluggish.
Edit per developer reply: Yes, turning off "Show Number of Visits In Browser Icon" helps quite a bit. I also turned off "Log Total Number Of History Deleted", which seems to help a bit too, but perhaps not as much. I still detect some minor loss of scrolling performance, but overall it's much better. Thanks.
Edit 2: Something else I've noticed: Removing the history for a link causes the browser's read/unread highlighting for that link to show as "unread". I'm curious if that's even something that can be addressed...

发布于 9 年前Go to settings and turn off "Show Number of Visits In Browser Icon" and see if that helps. If that helps, then perhaps I need to disable that setting by default on install.
Edit 1: "Removing the history for a link causes the browser's read/unread highlighting for that link to show as "unread"". I think that the browser uses the history to determine whether a link is unread or not, so if you delete the history, the link will show as unread.
Also this extension works best with e10s enabled which would probably solve your scrolling issue.

Other than that, it's a fantastic add-on! - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 17621662, 3 年前
- I don't normally write negative reviews for add-ons, since I understand the process behind them and how difficult it can be to build a coherent user experience. However, there's a certain amount of care and trueness to advertising which I expect, and History AutoDelete does not meet that - nor does it appear to be under improvement despite obvious flaws.
Firstly, this add-on purports to 'auto delete history' based on domains. I have not succeeded through numerous attempts to set up this most basic of functions, which should of all things be the most accessible. So far as I can tell it expects some sort of glob syntax, and does not allow regular expressions despite the fact that this would be much more clear and versatile. Even ignoring this immediate limitation, the function doesn't seem to work no matter which settings I change, even if the regex generated would in fact match the intended URLs.
Most incriminating, however, is in the add-on's secondary purpose as an old history deleter. Such a powerful and potentially damaging function should be very clearly explained and safeguarded. Instead, a checkbox and input box pair sports a single unclear label which implies that it controls how often blocklisted history entries are cleared. Failing to make the primary function work, naturally, I deferred to fiddling with this setting. Not only did I soon find that all of my history was gone without warning, but the add-on had the nerve to continue reporting a deletion count of "0 entries". I will admit this one is partially on me, but there is zero safeguarding around this already unclear feature and doubtless other users will be making the same mistake time and time again.
I'm only granting you 2 stars since clear effort has been put into this, and I cannot currently find an alternative (though I will of course be uninstalling this attempt). Feel free to contact me if you think my review is unfair. If you still plan on developing this, I do hope the information helps. I do not wish to be harsh but for obvious reasons I am quite annoyed at the moment. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Seth Falco, 3 年前
