That is what this extension also does. If something does not work directly, it's usually something with your system. And that is why the troubleshooting guide exists.- 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 12580101, 1 个月前I couldn't get it to work. I wasted a lot of time in trying. I have a lot of experience with programming and windows. I've used keepass since 1.0 or earlier and was trying to move off 2.0 because it cannot identify window titles in win11 wild cards or not and has quirks on opning from the toolbar. But neither can this. In fact it shows the same operational failures as 2.0. I did not test toolbar with xc. Obviously some have gotten it to work but it appears the list of those that cannot get it to work is growing. Back to 2.0 for me. There is no way in this world the average user can use this extension or xc.

There are two ways you can get credentials out from KeePassXC: using the browser extension, or using Auto-Type. Please refer to our documention for guides: https://keepassxc.org/docs/- 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13120063, 3 个月前Will not work with current version of Firefox and Ubuntu 25.04. I have used this for years. Sad to see Mozilla can not keep up.
- It only has offline support. On Linux the configuration is a mess. Sometimes It doesn't talk with my desktop app. Remote support should also be added, so 1 star. I also noticed this while using it: not everything is handled within the browser. When the master password is requested, It switches to the KeepassXC desktop window which makes the experience less convenient. MasterPassword could instead be entered through a small pop-up inside the browser. This is what I would have preferred.

The whole idea of the extension is that it talks to the desktop app. It has no direct connection to your database, and it will never ask your master password. Not able to add connected database. Nothing happens when clicking the Connect Database button. Bazzite 43 (linux) NVIDIA edition, Firefox 149, KeePassXC 2.7.12
The addon randomly shows errors like "KeePassXC-Browser has encountered an error: Key exchange was not successful" which means absolutely nothing to the user and does not help solve the problem in any way. It is the same as showing a message "Error: There has been an error. You're unlucky, too bad for you."

GitHub already has an issue about this. In short, there's no way to get details from the API why the key exchange / connection fails. I suggest you take a look at the most common error threads and our Troubleshooting Guide at GitHub. - it doesn't work when the password is on another page after the email. it always puts the wrong password from another account without even asking which account. developers, add a dropdown to ask the user from which account to take the password, don't just put any random password from any random account in the database. changing any setting didn't fix this.

First of all, this shouldn't happen. There's already a dropdown selector when filling usernames or password from multiple accounts. Selector from the popup works as well. There are some settings that try to fill the password automatically for the selected username. Disabling those should help. If not, please file an issue to GitHub, thanks. - Currently completely broken with more restrictive privacy configurations due to a bug (#2672) that was reported over two months ago and patched over a month ago - and still not released.
I would have thought show stopping bugs would be worth a point release, but apparently not.
Dear FartPie (love the nick btw), we've been collecting a bunch of various fixes and new features for the release, and it will be published soon. The bug you mentioned was not really high-priority, and not affecting many people so it didn't require a separate hotfix release. All of a sudden the connection between the extension and the app has broken and the extension doesn't function in any useful way. I'm surmising it's something to do with an update to Firefox to version 143.0.

- This does not work at all. I am on Github login page with an open KeepassXC database that has an entry with given URL exactly at it appears in brower with /login and still it says "Error: no logins found. (github url but without /login)"
edit: i'm using the exact URL of github login page, with https, exactly as it appears in browser.
This only means your entry has an invalid URL for the site. Try using the most simple form, for example https://example.com. The URL scheme also matters. Entry URLs starting with http are not valid for https sites. As other users have mentioned, on ubuntu derived distributions this extension works with native browsers but not any browsers installed via snap or flatpak. This is a very problematic flaw on any ubuntu-related operating system! Unfortunately, it has made this extension virtually unusable for me.

One star reviews about this are understandable, but after all it is 100% a Snap issue, not a bug in the extension itself.

This add-on does not link with the KeePassXC app (v2.7.9) on Linux Mint 21.2.
It has been like that for 2 years !!!

Take a look at our Troubleshooting Guide in GitHub, especially the section about AppArmor. Ubuntu can restrict Firefox usage through it, and the extension might not work with default settings.
