by computerfan, 10 months agoi would rate this extension at zero stars if i could. i've seen so many trans queer people marked red on here that it's just unreliable and useless. everytime i see a name marked as being transphobic i have to go check their blog because half the time it's just a trans man or intersex person talking about stuff they experience. not even mentioning trans women or misogyny! and those that do don't discredit it, because YES it is a real issue!
i'm not ignorant, so i don't deny that transmisogyny is a real issue, but claiming its the only "serious" form of transphobia is dishonest. trans men and intersex people are killed and assaulted too. NONE OF US deserve that.
i'm sick of having my experiences mocked and being called transphobic for experiencing transphobia or even implying that other trans men or intersex folk experience transphobia too. instead of creating a helpful tool to help queer people stay safe online, you've created a tool that only spreads division and hate between transfems, transmascs, and intersex people of any gender.
even putting trans-ness aside. women aren't inherently any better than men. we are all equal human beings and the transandrophobia debate you continue to perpetuate only benefits conservatives and people who want all of us forcibly detransitioned or exterminated. trans men deserve love. trans women deserve love. people of all agabs and identities deserve love. and we ALL deserve language to talk about the hardships we experience.
stop downplaying people's struggles. division is not the answer. love each other while you still can. it's our only hope for a brighter future 🏳️⚧️💙

- Rated 1 out of 5by boxofvoidkittens, 40 minutes agoDoesn't seem to work? Claims to detect antitrans sentiments, routinely does not do that, flags transgender people as antitrans for speaking about their experiences with transitioning. Is this some kind of fake app/virus?
- Rated 1 out of 5by emeraldo, 3 days agoBefore this review, I'd like to say that I still use this extension, I just manually review people that I see marked as any color before making any judgements on a person.
Lately, this extension has taken a HUGE downfall on the quality of flags- most users I see marked as red are intersex activists or folks that talk about transandrophobia. Whilst I don't have much to talk about either of these matters, what bugs me is that people talking about these matters in positive OR negative light are being falsely flagged as red, despite being trans-friendly in the traditional sense- supporting trans people across the entire spectrum of gender.
I think until a user is being actively transphobic, I.E mis/disgendering people, using transphobic slurs as derogatory slurs, or sharing misinformation about trans people and their experiences, they shouldn't be marked as red. Disagree all you want on what terms are real and fake, but don't let it cloud your sense of judgement- they're still an ally to transgenderism, however that may be. - Rated 3 out of 5by deaf, 3 days agoinaccurate for most red eyes. green is usually accurate but red is incredibly inconsistent. transgender pro trans activists are red, intersex-activists are red, people that are active in the trans activism community that are explicitly pro trans are red. can be weaponized really easily, and needs better moderation
- Rated 1 out of 5by Soup, 5 days agoYou can personally tag and change the red/green markers, but the ones shown to the public are manually reviewed by people with a bias towards transmedicalism. On non-socialmedia sites, it is useful. Everywhere else, it is not.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Anna, 6 days agoToo many people are getting false-flagged--it's now more an extension for transphobes to smear trans people with than actually warning you about transphobes.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Pyro, 6 days agoDon't install Shinigami Eyes. Its accuracy is EXTREMELY low, and it oftentimes mistakes actual transgender people for transphobes and vice versa. This is not a reliable application in its implementation, and it seems to frequently mismark transgender individuals who do not identify with a binary gender in a traditional way (ex. people who don't fit into categories such as stereotypical boys who like blue and girls who like pink). I do not know if that is by design, but it would not surprise me if it was so.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Ash the Yggdrasil, 7 days agoHello. I am transfeminine. I ask you read this review before continuing to read any others.
Many of the people rating this as "five stars" claim transmisogyny and "review bombing."
It is not review bombing. Most, if not all, of the one-star reviews are valid concerns and I have witnessed the things the one-star reviews are talking about with my own eyes. The people giving out one star reviews are not being transmisogynist. The fact that my own sisters in the trans community will claim such of people actually having grievances and struggles of their own is a fact that disgusts me.
Most of the one-star reviews are discussing experiencing "transandrophobia," intersexism, and even racism at the hands of the developers of this extension. They speak of many people being completely, unfairly, and unjustly marked red, and I have seen this happening more and more often, and I find more and more people being marked green purely on the basis of being a trans woman.
Many of the 5-star reviews here would have you believe that transmisogyny is to blame, and I can confidently assure you:
No, that's not what it is at all actually <3
In fact, claiming transmisogyny when there is none, in order to use it as a shield is morally disgusting.
This is actually a one-star review, but I wanted to put this here to challenge the people in the 5-star section having the disgusting gall to call our trans siblings "transmisogynist" for the mere fact that they are not trans women themselves.
And if one such reviewer is reading this, one such trans woman who genuinely seems to think that trans men are below you and that their voices should not be as loud as yours...
Do better. I know you can. Fix your hearts. You are being evil. - Rated 1 out of 5by Yugi, 8 days agoI've noticed over the past few months that several very innocuous intersex and nonbinary accounts on Tumblr have been marked as transphobic. I was not able to find anything to back this up in my own searching. I did, however, see a sharp increase in people reporting false tags over the same period of time I've noticed them.
I will be removing this extension until the developers are able to correct this wash of inaccurate, false flagging. - Rated 5 out of 5by Fox, 9 days agoIn my experience most of the negative reviews come as a result of Shinigami Eyes being very good about catching transphobia directed at trans women. When you prioritize the most vulnerable those who previously saw themselves in that position often grow frustrated. This is still a great way to understand who you're interacting with online. Don't be a trans-misogynist if you want to remain green - pretty simple <3
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17016267, 14 days agoI used to use it because it was good at pointing out transphobes. Now, it's useless. All I see is trans people marked as red, and actual transphobes unmarked or marked green. The team in charge of it is unreliable.
- Rated 1 out of 5by GBMoD, 15 days agothis used to be a really useful tool, it has shown a light on all sort of content creators that i used to like but never bothered looking into their personal beliefs. this however is not what the extension is being used for now. i have seen more intersex and trans people get flagged in recent times than i have actual transphobic people. i don't know if this is the creators doing or if its a group of salty transphobes but something needs to change. this is no reason why a intersex activist is getting flagged for anti-lgbt messaging when its done nothing but spread awareness about trans and intersex problems. whoever is behind this is no better than the transphobes that this extension was made to flag. i highly doubt this is the only case of misuse of this extension and i highly doubt this is going to be the last but until someone fixes this i HIGHLY recommend everyone who uses this extension to make sure the person you see flagged (green or red) is actually accurate.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Sunny Haven, 16 days agoThe intent of the extension is really commendable, but this extension has just resulted in lots of trans infighting or sometimes things that have nothing to do with transgender folk are marked as anti-trans. I have had to take who is marked as trans-friendly or anti-trans with a grain of salt, and at that point, there's no reason to have this extension.
I think the real thing that holds this thing back is being unable to see why someone is marked the way they are. I imagine the developers aren't able to review every marked item but mandating that a reason (and a link for proof) for marking an individual/link be given—that is available for everyone to see—would make it much easier to discern what is something being marked honestly or not. But without that and without a review process, I can't trust this extension. A shame, I really liked the idea of it. - Rated 1 out of 5by randomfate, 17 days agothis extension used to be really useful for identifying transphobic people, but lately i've noticed that it's marking a lot of trans and intersex people as "transphobic", which in addition to following stupid online discourse, renders the extension useless. L devs, grow up and understand that infighting within the trans community will only hurt us in the long run. shame to see a formerly useful extension go bad like this.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Useariothreemil, 17 days agowhy are trans people of color getting flagged as transphobes
why are nonbinary folk being flagged as transphobes
why are intersex people marked as transphobes
this addon has been used to bully anyone who isn't a white woman on twitter for months now. This is what it has become, a harming tool to POC. - Rated 5 out of 5by Avakining, 18 days ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by leavemetheFUCKALONE, 19 days agoThis add-on is incredibly racist.
It is being used to pit the world's most vulnerable people against each other.
Black people who have proven time and time again that they are trans-friendly are being marked as anti-trans for the sole reason of being black.
Please do not use this add-on if you care about BIPOC or are BIPOC yourself. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19248245, 19 days ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Seamus, 20 days agothis has become useless in light of infighting in the trans community. transphobic people are consistently marked as trans friendly and people actively fighting transphobia are consistently marked as transphobic.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19414640, 21 days agoutterly useless as an extension as it doesn't explain why certain people or websites are listed as green or red, so you have no idea who is actually transphobic and who just has the wrong opinions on the most common trans infighting topics according to the extension creators. i've seen multiple seemingly pro trans blogs marked as red and with no explanation for why they're marked red it's hard to make any judgement for myself on whether or not they align with my views or not.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Rookery, 24 days agoThis thing is getting a lot of bad reviews due to the concept of "men benefit from misogyny" paired with "trans men are, in fact, men" causing them to hold systemic power over trans women despite both experiencing transphobia. The way that trans women experience both misogyny and transphobia yields the unique combination known as transmisogyny, basic intersectionality stuff, and this tool being used to mark transmisogynists who despite ostensibly being good on "trans issues" participate in transmisogynistic posting etc has gotten non-transfem people invested in their own perception of inculpability up in arms.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Sorceress Eve, 24 days agoWorks well. I always take it with a grain of salt (always checking the person marked). I've used the extension for many years, and have only found a handful of instances where it was obvious as a miss-flag, otherwise seemed pretty accurate. The creator does kinda suck though. Though I don't use Tumblr, so that might be why it's been fairly fine for me. I've heard that it can be pretty hit or miss there as people use it against each other.
