by LookingForLoo, a year agoWanted to write a longer review but the character limit got me, so my main points are:
- Responding with "examine your behavior" and "intersex people are welcome so long as they don't align themselves with TERFs(which in this context means "correctly use a term intersex people came up with to explain their experiences and identities" and is not, in fact, actually aligning oneself with TERFs)" when people point out that your extension is being used to harm innocent marginalized people is unacceptable. Given how much of our lives are online and how much violence, harassment, and ostracization an anti-trans marking invites you absolutely need to have a real solution to people using SE as a weapon. If you can't come up with a solution then I mean this in all seriousness, you need to take this down until you can. I say this as a trans person, the pros in no way outweigh the cons, and it's WELL past time y'all did something about this.
- While SE is helpful in some cases(flagging celebrities, news sources, and other organizations) it has always been exploitable and thus if you do use it, see it as a suggestion, not as an inherently concrete or factual stamp of dis/approval, especially when it comes to individuals. Being able to think critically and understand ideologies and beliefs *on your own* is a vital skill to have. If you use SE you should investigate any people you see marked either way for yourself to decide if they are actually transphobic or not, because recognizing general transphobia as well as transphobia directed at trans women, trans men, nonbinary people, and how it changes based on race, as well as TERF/radfem rhetoric and dogwhistles and, critically, tell the difference between all that and legitimate language/theory used by trans and intersex people is something you should absolutely be able to do yourself if you want to be a good trans ally and forward the cause of trans liberation.
- It is really fucking weird of y'all to rightfully say that Pepe the Frog emotes/memes are alt-right dogwhistles and thus transphobic while claiming "theyfab" a slur made up by alt-right trolls on 4Chan to harm nonbinary people is "out of scope" like?? Make it make sense. Either all transphobia is bad or you don't think nonbinary people count as trans and so violence against them is fine, which is it.
- My faith in this extension continues to tank for ever person I see who is marked green despite having radfem in their bio and regularly interacting with actual self-identified TERFs. Radical feminism is always, ALWAYS transphobic and absolutely no one who claims to be a radfem should ever be marked as trans-friendly under any circumstances. It seems to a lot of the users of this extension that it's okay if blatant transphobia comes out of the right kind of trans person's mouth phrased the right way. And ofc I know this extension does require constant input to function, so I mark these people as red, but they stay green. The standard of what is considered transphobic by the people who use and maintain this extension is really strange, and I say that as someone who has been fighting radical feminism online for over 15 years. It's okay if someone is an open radfem, who spouts gender essentialist bs about the inherent evils of men and virtues of women so long as they include trans people in their nonsense, but intersex trans people trying to use a label they coined and nonbinary folks who would like to not be called slurs are treated like the problem?
This extension isn’t trustworthy atm and honestly even if it was working properly I would still say you should only use it if you're willing and able to vet people yourself. The path of queer and trans liberation is one you must be proactive in pursuing, blind trust, on the other hand, is oppression's favorite tool and it will get you absolutely nowhere.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Pluto, 2 days agoThe 5-star reviewers are primarily TERFs, just an FYI.
Anyways, yes, this extention USED to be a valuable tool for rooting out harmful people, but nowadays it has become weaponized by TERFs to belittle, ostracize, and invalidate large portions of the queer community.
False flags are pinned against trans men, transmasculine, intersex, nonbinary, and queer people, as well as people of color. They are marked red simply for speaking about the oppression they face and their own experiences, meanwhile TERFs who openly call for the deaths, detransitioning, and rape of transmasculine people remain green, "safe." Tell me- how that is fair? How can someone like that be a safe and trustworthy person in the queer community?
This is not, and never has been, a tool to "call out misogyny." It is an outdated, jumbled mess of code that TERFs are using to make lists of people that don't agree with them. Don't use this addon. - Rated 1 out of 5by Chara, 3 days agoUsed to be phenomenal, then slowly over time became utterly useless. People whom I followed on social media became marked as red for speaking out against transphobia, whilst people marked green spouted hate. Unbelievably un-moderated and a useless extension in 2025.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19603959, 6 days agoAs it is now, it's very flawed. Many people are falsely marked as transphobic constantly.

- Rated 1 out of 5by spons, 8 days agodespite what the devs may say, the extension is pro-radfem and anti-trans; trans men, transmascs, and nonbinary people are marked as transphobic for existing and fighting against bigotry. not even the transfems and trans women it seems to be oriented to are safe; if they don't follow the radfem thinking line, even they will get marked red.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Toothless NEO, 13 days agoI've seen numerous false positives reported here, many on radfems who are openly and repeatedly transphobic towards NonBinary people. I've also seen many NonBinary and intersex people marked red for seemingly no reason.
On top of that this extension doesn't seem to be updated anymore and is causing issues in the UI of certain sites. Noticed graphical glitches in YouTube already. This is definitely an addon to avoid. - Rated 1 out of 5by helloworldp3, 15 days agothis addon is outright unreliable - trans-friendly sites are marked red (transphobic) while individuals who express hostility towards transmascs and nonbinary people are marked green (trans-friendly.) this addon is completely unreliable, and the bizarre marking of people as red despite not them being transphobic, or even despite them being trans-friendly, makes this extension effectively useless

- Rated 1 out of 5by KC O, 21 days agoi have used this extension since 2019 i think and for many many years i was grateful for it. it helped me identify terfs especially on innocuous posts where they said feminist things i would theoretically agree with (e.g."men have historically been favored by patriarchal society and that's why we need affirmative action"). but i now see this extension being used vindictively against other trans people who just have different opinions, being used to hurt and isolate trans women, men and nb ppl who don't say exactly the right words in the right order. in the shinigami guidelines, even your out of touch granny who is saying accidentally transphobic stuff but still has the spirit is considered "not enough to mark as anti-trans", but people are being marked in red for saying they support both trans women's fight against transmisogyny and other trans ppl's fight against transphobia, if they are seen to be not explicitly saying the transmisogyny is worse. even if that is slightly transmisogynistic, how is that worse than out-of-touch granny? why does the extension mark as green even people who are being actively transphobic about trans men and nb people?
"all trans men deserve to die" is 1. not the same vent as "all men deserve to die" and 2. a transphobic thing to say! and there are people marked as trans friendly who say these things!
i wish the devs would make it consistent-- either no hate speech about any trans groups, and/or a little misguided venting/uniformed statements are okay.
i'm just tired of watching my favorite trans women creators get marked red for no reason - Rated 1 out of 5by Mercurial Kara, 22 days agothis addon may have once been useful, but i can't recommend it at this point. there's far too many transmasc and intersex people who are marked as red for no reason and far too many transandrophobic and intersexist trans people marked as green who should be marked red for this to be worth using.

- Rated 1 out of 5by paul, 23 days agoDownloaded this to see if the discrimination that's been brought to my attention was as bad as it was described to me. I have a tumblr blog where I post about clouds shaped like animals and lo and behold I'm marked red, I don't know how to be more clear when I say I don't post or talk about anything besides clouds shaped like animals. The only thing related to the queer community on my blog is my bio where I have "transmasc it/they" writen so people know what to refer to me as... so yeah... it does more harm than good and it looks like I need to make a new pin post so I'm not auto blocked for, let me remind you, posting pictures of clouds shaped like animals and I guess being a trans man
- Rated 1 out of 5by annathebanana, 23 days agoThere was a time when this extension was helpful but it has long since past. Too many trans and intersex folks are flagged red and too many terfs are flagged green or completely ignored. It does more harm than good and spreads more hate than protection. Another review lever was right, you can't trust a colour coded hyperlink. You need to make decisions for yourself and this extension is not a tool to aid you with that

- Rated 5 out of 5by Ezri, 23 days agoContrary to what people claim, I have never once seen a false red flag. You can easily investigate the account, and find something horribly transphobic, a lot of the accounts claiming to be false flags straight up believe that biological sex is an immutable reality. (Which is... bad. Regardless of if you're trans yourself.)
- Rated 2 out of 5by Cooper, 24 days agoUsed to be great, but I've noticed way way too many trans people flagged red and I have to uninstall it because it's just misleading now.
- Rated 1 out of 5by azzyskunk, a month agoUsed to be good, with showing off Anti LGBTQ/ Queer phobic pages. Now the main page of Wikipedia is seen as "Red" (anti-LTGBTQI)
I suggest the maker of this app fixes this issue or perhaps finds a hobby. Perhaps Stamp Collecting or Meditation or UXO Collecting - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18748246, a month ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by aaaa, a month agoI have been using this extension for a couple years now as an easy way to detect transphobes (which is important for me to do since I am transmasculine and do not want to interact with these people at all) but lately I have been highly dissatisfied with how many transgender people are being flagged as transphobic for no reason. It is especially horrible towards trans men, intersex people, and those who do not fit into the gender binary, going against the whole point of this extension (detecting ALL transphobia, not just transmisogyny like the five star reviews for this extension claim this extension is only for). Please do better.
