Firefox V 65.0.2 (im Win7-System mit AMD Phenom II 1090T) ) stürzt nach ca. 5 Sek. ab. Firefox mußte neu installiert werden, ohne Ghostery (letzte Version).
Wenn man schnell ist und das Add-on (Ghostery) über die "Extras" > "Add-ons" > "Erweiterungen" nach dem Firefox-Start deaktiviert, bevor Firefox das Licht ausgeht, erspart man sich die Neuinstallation von Firefox. Dieser Fehler trat mit der neuesten Version 8.3.1 auf. Bei meinem Zweit-PC und beim Laptop (mit älteren Prozessoren) trat dieses Problem nicht auf.

Nach dem heutigen Update (21.3.19) von Firefox von V 65.0.2 auf 66.0 schmiert Firefox nach der Intallation von Ghostery nicht mehr ab. Das Absturzproblem lag somit an Firefox V 65.0.2 selbst und nicht an Ghostery.
Habe meine Bewertung von 1 Stern auf 5 Sterne für Ghostery korrigiert.
In Zukunft ist kritisch zu beobachten, wenn Firefox aktualisiert wird.

Wir untersuchen das Problem hier aktiv. Dieses Problem wurde mit Firefox 65.0.2 eingeführt. Wir haben seit ungefähr einem Monat keine Veröffentlichung auf Firefox vorgenommen. Hier ist das Bugzilla-Ticket, wenn jemand mitmachen möchte: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1535589

    I loved this extension but recently I notice the youtube videos are affecting its loading it causing slow loading, videos are playing abut the background isnt fully loaded yet and causing the video to buffer and more stuff its causing. I found out its this extension when I turn off one by one and it was this one. So I have to turn it off.

    Helps block redirects, ads, trackers, and so much more. I use it everyday for my work and research. Would definitely recommend.

    As of this writing Ghostery is fully incompatible with YouTube. You must disable it or the site will barely function. (YouTube becomes incredibly laggy and videos will take forever to load). I submitted a ticket to the Ghostery support team and they said they fixed the issue, but the problem is not fixed even a little bit.

    Edit: I see the response from the developer below, and it's true it is now compatible with YouTube, but YouTube is very laggy with the extension. It will eventually load a video and play it, but it's still a real hassle. Not worth using for YouTube until this is fixed.

    Unfortunately all ad blockers are confronted with the same problem. We’ve recently rolled out several fixes addressing issues with YouTube, and the latest Ghostery version should provide a more stable experience.

    Been having issues with Youtube being seriously slow over the past week, been examining my PiHole for any issues, but then went through my browser extensions one by one and found that Ghostery was slowing it down to the point where videos wasn't loading thumbnails. Once I'd removed the Ghostery extension, Youtube worked properly again.

    Probably triggers youtube's adblock protection. Makes youtube completely unusable while that on. Maybe other web-sites works worse performance wise (its funny to see when website assemble itself visibly like i'm using my old Pentium 4 PC from that era). But you gotta choose privacy or performance in today's reality :/
