- Rated 4 out of 5by Bim, 6 years agoThanks for the great addon!
Just what I wanted: Adds an icon to the adress bar when a RSS/ATOM feed is available for the website you're on. Click to add a live feed bookmark. The addon regularly updates those bookmarks, just like Firefox does/did. If now the bookmarks had the correct favicon I'd give it 5 stars, but that's an API-problem atm afaik... - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 10199255, 6 years agoGood follow-up for the old live bookmarks. Didn't encounter any problems yet. I'd like to at least be able to choose between some icons though, the icon could use some color imho. Anyway, keep up the good work!

- Rated 4 out of 5by Underpass, 6 years agoGood surrogate of the much missed RSS features in Firefox. The Livemarks folder icon should be different from "normal" bookmarks icons.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14207240, 6 years agoThank you for this Add-on. I'm gonna need it when Mozilla turns off the dynamic bookmarks. But I've found some differences. Perhaps there is a way to integrate the following points.
- Dynamic bookmarks of Firefox show more entries (if available). I tried it with the feed of orf.at (Austrias most popular news site)
- When I have read a bookmark the icon changes. That's very useful.
- The description field is automatically filled in the dynamic bookmarks (irrelevant but just saying)
Btw. if you need a translator for German I can help you. - Rated 4 out of 5by MonkPredator04, 6 years agoReally useful, reminds me of Liveclick (http://pzlc.protej.com/liveclick/home/) a lot. There are some features that Firefox might allow permissions for in the future that will help this extension to be even better but I am already very, very glad this exists!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13663169, 6 years agoGood replacement addon for the abbandond live bookmarks in future firefox releases.
Some minor things are to be done yet, but its promissing !
Try it, or you will regret it :) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13443635, 6 years agoLooks like the best replacement for Live Bookmarks that I've seen so far. The only major problem is that it is missing the ability to distinguish read items, which is something the author acknowledges; however, I have no idea if this is even possible with the current WebExtension APIs. I will hope for the future I guess.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13909443, 6 years agoThis addon is important because Mozilla has abandoned free and open web technologies.
They've deprecated Livemark RSS/Atom feed reading to be removed by Firefox 63. They are now going to be pushing Pocket, which is a proprietary technology that they purchased, with the belief that focusing all their efforts on that will get them beyond 5% overall browser marketshare.
As of August 2018, I've found this addon has stopped updating[0] for me. Similar behavior to how I found Foxish in Chrome to function years ago. I'll update my review as things change, but I'm close to abandoning Firefox altogether after 16 years of using it, since it was Phoenix. The only thing left are containers and the dedicated search bar.
UPDATE 10/17/18- all problems resolved. This is now better than Foxish ever was. Changed rating to 5 stars.

- Firefox sync (some RSS article links got changed to empty folders, there are problems with synchronizing subscribed RSS channels),
- Recent bookmarks "magic" folder got flooded with RSS entries (all RSS entries got there, pushing off bookmarks I added manually).
I'll update my review when things change :)
Too bad Mozilla decided to delete a good feature because "people don't use it", but they didn't actively promote it :(Developer response
posted 6 years agoHello morkil,
Thanks for the review, the latest version (version 1.8) now adds Firefox sync support. Normally, the livemarks should appear on the other instance too and should be listed under the add-on preferences. Can you please let us know if it works for you ?
Also, the recent bookmarks folder situation should be improved as we no longer recreate the bookmarks when updating them.
Thanks again.

For example this feed: https://rss.golem.de/rss.php
Also a site visited marker would be an awesome feature. - Rated 5 out of 5by Denny, 6 years agoGreat replacement for live bookmarks. There were some issues that got fixed, now the only missing thing is highlighting of unread/new feed items, but it will eventually be added too.

posted 6 years agoHi Denny,
Thanks for the review.
Do you have a sample OPML that reproduces the issue ?
All the other problems are known, and I'm working on them :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Alexey Murz Korepov, 6 years agoVery good replacement for disappearing Live bookmarks feauture from Firefox core!
Additionally to integrated live bookmarks, this extension also show favicons for each item, and can be used as shared bookmarks folder for team, eg for create quick links to corporate services, deployed from company sysadmin to all company empoyees. - Rated 5 out of 5by Tawn, 6 years agoUnique in way they open and scroll like regular items in the bookmarks menu just like Live Bookmarks did. Other rss reading add-ons I've seen/used open in the sidebar, page, or panel which requires more clicking and/or manual scrolling. I find the Livemarks way more efficient for feeds that have many items and are frequently updated. Includes option for refresh interval and ability to import/export feeds (or add them by entering feed url in Options dialog).
Issues:
* Settings dialog seems excessively slow to load.
* Would it be possible to add some way to distinguish between read/unread items? (Live Bookmarks did this and it's the only major missing feature; 5 stars with that ability added.)
* Is there any method to change the default folder to one located on the Bookmarks Toolbar instead of the Bookmarks Menu? (Edit: You can just drag the folder to the toolbar and it still seems to work fine.)
Update: Above issues no longer affect me with current version. Big 'Thank You!' for the read/unread feature.
