- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17762763, 9 months agoas many have reported, the latest version of Proton Pass is just a dumpster fire.
It is well documented now and Proton is aware of it.
So what now? One reviewer said he was going back to the previous version. That's great, but where do I find it. Currently I cannot even log in to Proton.me web site itself.
I signed up for a ProtonMail account before it was even released many years ago. I am significantly less pleased with their VPN and PASS as well as Calendar. They all seem half-baked so I deleted them and only use mail now.
Needless to say I am very disappointed in their performance. I suspect they are trying to grow too fast.
In any case, PASS was very clearly not tested very well, as probably tens of thousands of user will finally attest as soon as they can figure out why half the sites they visit seem broken.
PROTON: PLEASE POST A LINK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION BEFORE ALL YOUR CURRENT USERS ABANDON YOU FOR GOOD.Developer response

Thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18334590, 9 months agoThis extension is practically unusable on multiple website since the last update, JS is sometime not rendered at all and some functionalities are not properly working because of the extension
Really disappointed with proton pass and moving back to 1password at least I'll have my money worth

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18005521, 9 months agoProtonPass extension breaks almost everything. All the websites I use for business either go blank or have broken drop-down menues. BTW, sometimes the suggestions have absolutely nothing to do with the website I'm on…

It took me forever to figure out what is the problem. Test your builds before publishing ! Everything got broken, from login popups, to loading pages ..etc even the suggested passwords got broken, I get random password suggestions now. Basically having links in the passwords became meaningless. I'm reverting back to version 1.13.2, before you ruined everything.

As others have noted, this extension has somehow managed to break a solid chunk of the internet. Unfortunately for Proton mail users, this is the only way to get email aliases...because this security and privacy focused company wants to hook into your browser, for some reason, rather than using their own platform natively.

I first became of the issue when a web editor stopped loading on one of my computers that has Proton Password Manager installed. After accessing the same page on two different browsers successfully, I "refreshed" and reset Mozilla Firefox and I was able to access the Web Editor. Then I re-installed Proton Password Manager because I put all my important passwords in and the Web editor immediately stopped functioning. I
Furthermore, the page I had open to Proton.me broke as well. Deleting the Proton Password Manager resolved access to the Proton site, but darn if my twelve sentence passphrase isn't locked down on a GDrive behind one of those passwords I can't get at quickly.
This one incident kills the value since I will be manually resetting passwords. While I can't blame Proton for my not printing the pass phrase, having it is useless if the plugin doesn't work on a major browser like Firefox.
Right now I'd give this ZERO stars since even if they fix in today, I will have wasted more time than the plugin is worth cleaning up after trusting it.

June 20-24 - STILL NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!
As a Firefox extension, this is pretty much a mess. What is simple to do is a pain in the butt to undo.
Proton Pass was loading a different site's login (D'Addario) whenever I logged into my health care company. At the time I didn't have the health care company set up, so I told Proton to stop loading passwords for my health care.
Well now that I have finalized my health care login, darn if there is no clear path to clearing whatever Proton switch was sent to stop the silly app from trying to use the Guitar string website's login info.
Oh yeah, password changes? Don't do it until you have backed up everything, gone to church and had all your shots. Don't take my word for it, check the net, the level of pain this plugin can cause is extreme.
Spend more time reading the one and two star reviews for the real deal. I read the rosy ones and paid for this not ready for prime time plugin.Developer response

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12938050, 9 months agoWorked perfectly until a few days ago. Now it breaks pages that have drop-down or pop-ups. Turning it off is the only solution which of course requires that it be turned back on when you need it. I am a paid Proton user and in general like their products. I am hopeful that this problem will be promptly addressed and corrected.

Dropdowns don't work. The wordpress editor encounters an error when it's running. Kindle Reader won't load books. It just goes on and on. I disabled EVERY SINGLE plugin and the problem is Proton Pass. Now that I have it disabled, everything works like it should including page load times that I thought were a problem with my web host. What a MESS this extension is.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this practical, easy-to-use add-on.
But, as of today I can no longer connect to my eBay account unless I deactivate Proton Pass in Firefox.
- If Proton Pass is activated: ebay asks for my username but does not ask for my password. So I can't access my eBay account,
- If I deactivate Proton Pass: eBay reverts to normal behavior and asks me to enter my username and password. I can then access my eBay account.
I'm having a similar problem with the Peerberry site: the connection works fine, but I have to disable Proton Pass (in Firefox) to access the "Logout" button and be able to leave my account. If Proton Pass is enabled, I get a blank page when I want to log out of Peerberry.
Thanks in advance for a quick fix.
Best regards.
A Proton Unlimited customer.

Hello and thank you for your reply,
On the advice of the Proton team support, I had uninstalled and reinstalled Proton Pass two days ago in order to go back to version 1.14.1, which allowed me to wait for the hotfix.
Today, my Firefox browser has automatically updated Proton Pass to 1.15.1 and everything is working normally as far as I'm concerned.
Thank you for following up my request.
All the best to the Mozilla team.Developer response
