It has been a great year for Proton Pass. Its been a bad year for Gmail. My Google account has been involved in 23 data breaches to date. Proton products? Zero breaches.
There is a probability each data breach could lead to identity theft. Why keep rolling the dice?
I use Proton Pass Plus & I love their Email Alias system w/SimplePass. I can create a unique, "dummy" email whenever I sign up to a site/app. This keeps my real addresses away from data brokers which manages the risk of data breach to a very low level.
Also, I basically get no spam. The recurring emails I receive are the ones I want. Remember, Google is an ad agency with a cruddy search engine. They want me to receive lots of spam. Its good business for them.
Proton Pass has made incremental changes to the UX that make a profound difference. For months, creating an alias was 80/20% with 80% of autofills working and 20% requiring cut/paste. Enough to nudge me into using Bitwarden as a crutch for several months.
Today, that ratio is more like 98% success and 2% fail. The failures are with tech oligopolies, Apple being a prime example. I still have to cut/paste to login into my Apple Account. I don't need to login to Apple very often so I don't care. I don't use Google products (data breaches!).
Finally, I love the OTP autofill. Super convenient.
I use the Firefox extension and my browser is on high privacy settings. This may, or may not contribute to my experiences. Yours may be different.
But I believe Proton Pass will continue to improve their product for everyone. Its been my experience with them over four years. It just keeps getting better.

I've been with Protonmail since the beginning. They start with solid design intentions and then slowly make a series of improvements on their products.
This Proton product is just fine. Yes, I know Bitwarden has features X, Y, and Z as well. They're all similar and lacking at the same time. It is unconcerning to me because I've seen their products evolve and I know they are genuine, ethical people. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17870088, a year ago

I use KeepassXC which is an excellent Password Manager but the Firefox extension for it is a bit clunky to use in comparison and its a faff to backup to encrypted storage and setup on different systems (which I do a lot).
With Proton Pass the whole process is easy. My password database is encrypted and securely stored on my Proton account and easily accessible by simply installing the extension on whatever browser I'm using at the time. I no longer worry about accidentally leaving my password database (even though its securely encrypted) on a machine Ive been working on.
It fits my work practices perfectly. Good work Proton Team! - Rated 5 out of 5by ayvacs, a year agoAmazing password manager all-around, coming from Dashlane it was super relieving to get all its important features for completely free, especially the working on multiple devices and infinite logins.

- Rated 4 out of 5by PoorPocketsMcNewHold, a year agoAs a Firefox extension, it's mostly top-notch, thought, it lack physical 2FA protection and options to save an e-mail login AND username necessary for some websites. Ain't gonna complain more about the service in itself however. Still a very solid choice alongside Bitwarden & KeePassXC.

posted a year agoHi! Could you please clarify if you are referring to unlocking the app with security keys? If you are a premium user, you can use custom fields to store usernames for such entries: https://proton.me/support/pass-custom-field. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18059674, a year ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15754493, a year agoProton Pass is still a long way from being feature-complete, especially when compared to its main competitor, Bitwarden. Despite this, I've migrated almost completely to Proton Pass and find that it provides everything that I need. It works seamlessly with other services like SimpleLogin, and I'm a big fan of the UI. At the moment my biggest gripe is the lack of a web app - but it seems to be on Proton's roadmap.
The value of Proton Pass is much more pronounced when a part of Proton's Unlimited subscription. Bitwarden remains a more feature-rich choice as a standalone password manager, but Proton Pass will undoubtedly continue to mature over time. It's otherwise a very welcome addition to the rest of Proton's trusted ecosystem. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18058567, a year ago

Mit dem "Proton Pass" wird vieles einfacher. Habe in den bisherigen "Safes" meine PW's nochmals codiert. Dies ist aber nun nicht mehr nötig !!! - Rated 4 out of 5by Fernando Lima, a year agoIt's...
