I have tried many different extensions, and Easy YouTube Downloader is the only one that doesn't break due to YouTube's code updates. Easy to use, and free for basic downloads. They offer a paid version which uses the developer's servers to process high rez and MP3 downloads.

- I was sceptical at first, but it really works, I can now download youtube music videos that I could only download in premium subscription of youtube and I can play those videos in VLC media player. There are higher resolution download options too, that I could have had to buy a premium subscription to chose otherwise.
