- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16418872, a year agoDoesn't have autofill which makes is dealbreaker considering it's one of the core features that every other password manager already has.
To make it worse, they use the term "autofill" to describe their difinitively MANUAL method of entering credentials. It's misleading, and confusing. I even wasted two days communicating with their customer support in a frustrating back-and-forth because they don't understand what "autofill" means.Developer response
posted a year agoCan you elaborate on what exactly you're referring to by 'autofill' so we make sure there are no misunderstandings?
Autofill should work on most websites (by suggesting your saved login items for a particular website when you go to log into that website) the same way that your memorized passwords in your browser might work.
We're working on improving the autofill functionality for all web services reported by our community. Please feel free to flag any problematic web services or apps to us either by editing your review or by contacting us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, and we'll note your feedback for future improvements. Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our extension! - Rated 5 out of 5by Ashley, a year agoProton pass is a good password manager tool. It doesn't have many of the bells and whistles that other pass managers have. The autofill is a little buggy right now but manageable. It is still new and will improve over time. The encrypted password generation & storage is sufficient for my needs.
On desktop, it is simply a browser extension. You can store your accounts, generate strong passwords (up to 64 characters), and lock 🔐 it. It contains a simple Note section, and CC login storage. Separate Authentication Apps and physical security keys are also supported for more login security.
Edit (7/28/2024): I feel like this pass manager has gotten better. They now have dark web monitoring for emails and secure link sharing for info in the manager. So of the autofill is still buggy, but still hoping this will improve over time. I love the email aliasing features and the manager lets you know if you are reusing passwords and if you have weak passwords. - Rated 2 out of 5by Haru, a year agoI hope the Proton team is putting a lot of effort into this extension because currently, it's not working well at all. I'd say that it only offers to autofill my info on about 50% of the sites I've tried to use it on. When I enter new login info for a website, it pretty much NEVER offers to remember it. I would submit bug reports, but I don't want to take the time because it doesn't work more often than it does. I really wish there was a standalone app for Windows instead of only the browser extension because I'd like to be able to use it for passwords that are outside of the browser as well. I also worry that there could be security vulnerabilities that are due to the browser and extension ecosystem. I'm a paid subscriber and rather disappointed, at the moment.

posted a year agoThank you for your review! We're working on improving the auto-fill for all websites. Auto-fill may also work on one OS version, but not on another.
Feel free to contact us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com with more details about your device model, app version, and which exact websites/apps don't work, so we can document your report in order to improve our extension in upcoming updates. - Rated 4 out of 5by 73cesna, a year agoAprès 2 semaines d'utilisation sur Firefox je suis agréablement surprise.

posted a year agoHi! Thank you for your feedback. You can already configure the password length for random generated passwords. Here's how to do it:
- Open the extension
- Select + in the top right
- Select 'Password'
- Type: Random password
- Use the slider to select between 4 and 64 characters for the password length - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18013034, a year agoLove the idea. Currently very buggy.
80% of the time outofill on existing logins does not work.
I do not want to import from outher sources, to prevent importing old accounts with invalid pw data.
So want to organically fill it upon time once I login to certain pages. But exactly this is not working because the ProtonPass dialog does either not show up at all on the login screen, or its not possible to fill in all information.
Reddit for example. Dialog did not even show up.Developer response

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18011719, a year agoI've been apart of the proton eco-system for about 2 years now and have enjoyed most of their products. THIS was a huge time saver to have all my logins in one central place. It's quick to setup and easy to import from other providers.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Artur F., a year agoNeeds some real polishing. Many Bugs.
For example:
OTPs imported from Bitwarden don't work for websites like Discord, Coinbase, login.live.com, paypal.com(probably more). When trying to reset the 2FA on these websites, they don't accept the new token generated by Proton.
After making changes to an entry, Proton won't let me save (greyed out, as if nothing has been changed) sometimes. (iOS and Firefox)
Doesn't detect some login masks.
Won't update/create Login after logging in (if no login exists yet)(sometimes).
Can't edit entries on iOS when accessing app via keyboard-shortcut.
Other than that, I really like the features it provides, although I would also like to be able to generate passwords without having to create a login.
Also, please enable shortcuts for autofilling as well as choosing options using the context menu when right-clicking in a login field. (similar to how Bitwarden works)Developer response
posted a year agoHi! Thank you for your extensive feedback.
1. For the unrecognized OTP items, can you let us know if you have multiple 2FAs configured for these platforms? Can you check if the same 6-digit codes are being generated in both Bitwarden and Proton Pass?
2. The extension / app not letting you save edits: Could you detail the exact steps on how to reproduce this behavior so we can investigate further on our end?
3. Login masks - could you elaborate on what you're referring to here?
4. We're working on improving this behavior. For the time being, if a login item hasn't been saved when you're automatically generating credentials during a sign-up, you can find the generated email alias as a separate item in the extension, and you can view generated passwords from the past 24 hours in Password history (Open the extension → + → Password → Password history).
5. Again, can you detail the exact steps here so we can try to reproduce this?
6. We're going to work on keyboard shortcut support in future updates, but we don't have a timeline to promise in this regard at the present moment.
Feel free to contact us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com with additional feedback for any of these topics, so we can help you troubleshoot or document the feedback accordingly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14728694, a year ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Seth, a year agoA bit buggy, but I have hopes for the future of this extension.
In it's current state, passwords fail to autosave, autofill is shaky and it is probably a good idea to use in conjunction with something like Bitwarden. Hopefully they will resolve this swiftly.Developer response
posted a year agoHi! Did a password fail to auto-save when you generate it directly through the suggestion while signing up at a certain web service? If so, you can view any generated passwords in the past day by opening the Pass extension → select + → Password → Password history.
This way you can find the password and save it in your login item for which it was created.
As for autofill, could you let us know for which apps/web services it didn't work, so we can document this for future improvement? We're saving all feedback from our community in order to improve autofill further and further in future updates. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17632393, a year agoStill getting used to it, lock function not working on Firefox, it does on Chrome.
Developer response
posted a year agoThat sounds odd. Can you explain a bit further how the lock function isn't working? What Firefox version are you using? Do you have any other extensions installed, and if so, could you try disabling them to see if there are any incompatibilities by any chance? - Rated 5 out of 5by Xodox, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Gabarito, a year agoWhen I imported my passwords, I made a mistake and can't delete default vault to start over the importing process. I already have communicated it to Proton Team 6 months ago, but it seems that they did not solve the problem. It happens using free account. I hope, someone is reading this and could add this to todo list. Thanks.
