- Rated 1 out of 5by ANARCHIST-X, 7 years agoEverytime I try & run this addon to DL a video in FF v. 57, I get the following msg.: "Native application is not installed. In order to download streaming videos you need to install native application.
Would you like to install it now?" I then DL said app, & install & refresh page where I wanna DL an video, & it still continues to endlessly give me the above msg. It just goes in circles & never accomplishes anything! It USED to work in older versions of the browser, but sadly no long does in newer versions for unknown reasons! Fix this already, would you guys?!Developer response
posted 7 years agoCould you please contact with more details to our support here: https://support.ant.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - Rated 1 out of 5by MargaretBartley, 7 years agoIt doesn't always work. It drives me nuts. About half the time, it only downloads the title, and an empty file. sometimes, I can go back, and download the file. sometimes, if I try three or four times, it will find files to download. It seems to be completely random. I hate it.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13849550, 7 years agoThis addon has been serving me well so far. But kindly include a button to "download all" videos queued on the ant downloads page. For example, I queued almost 25 videos on the downloads page and its a lot of hassle to be clicking on downloading one by one. Please

More about new AVD 3.0 you can read in our article here: https://support.ant.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005568983-About-the-new-Ant-Video-Downloader-3-0 - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13796778, 7 years agoThis app worked for a couple weeks, it downloaded videos no problem. Then suddenly it told me I needed another plugin. I scanned it before installing, it was clean. But since installing it I'm getting constant malware attacks! Do not use this app!

My only reason for removing a star is because sometimes when downloading movies in incognito mode, it will start the download in another non-incognito window that is already open. This, in effect, makes incognito mode less secure.

We will forward your message to our developers to check the problem and make a fix foe future release. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13816259, 7 years agoI thought I would be able to download HLS videos but it just says: "Warning: Native application is not installed or not available. Install it to enable streaming video downloads." It then links to an MSI file which is useless for non-Windows users.
Also, "Detected videos" says "There are no detected videos."
Useless plugin.Developer response
posted 7 years agoUnfortunately at this moment Native Application is only available for Windows systems, versions for Linux and Mac OS X are under development.
Linux and Mac OS X users can use current AVD 3.0 without Native Application for downloading only single file video via browser or install old AVD version in Firefox 56 and below from Mozilla website here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/
