posted 7 years agoNative Application is totally safe, you can check it with any antivirus soft.
It is used only for installing configuration files and dependency libraries for downloading and merging streaming video pieces.
More about new AVD 3.0 you can read in our article here: https://support.ant.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005568983-About-the-new-Ant-Video-Downloader-3-0 - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13095065, 7 years agoIt's fuckin useless now. It used to be the best downloader now it just junk

My only reason for removing a star is because sometimes when downloading movies in incognito mode, it will start the download in another non-incognito window that is already open. This, in effect, makes incognito mode less secure.

We will forward your message to our developers to check the problem and make a fix foe future release. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13816259, 7 years agoI thought I would be able to download HLS videos but it just says: "Warning: Native application is not installed or not available. Install it to enable streaming video downloads." It then links to an MSI file which is useless for non-Windows users.
Also, "Detected videos" says "There are no detected videos."
Useless plugin.Developer response
posted 7 years agoUnfortunately at this moment Native Application is only available for Windows systems, versions for Linux and Mac OS X are under development.
Linux and Mac OS X users can use current AVD 3.0 without Native Application for downloading only single file video via browser or install old AVD version in Firefox 56 and below from Mozilla website here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/
In case of problems with video detection please contact to our support at: https://support.ant.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13807746, 7 years agoEsta si funciona. Y además te permite descargar los videos en diferentes tamaños de archivos. Recomendable

But the new UI is extremely tedious to use and user unfriendly. Went from being the best browser video downloader to the worst. I'd give it 0 if I could. Bring back the old interface where video would just start downloading after one click. What a moronic move by the devs. Uninstalled.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13738674, 7 years agoIt doesn't work at all. Every time I want to download a video a prompt comes out and tells me:" Native Application is not installed. In order to download streaming videos you need to install native application. Would you like to install it now?"
So totally use less.
I'm on Firefox 58.0.1 on a mac
