You still can install old AVD version in Firefox 56 and below from Mozilla website here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/ - Rated 1 out of 5by freir, 7 years ago

But the new UI is extremely tedious to use and user unfriendly. Went from being the best browser video downloader to the worst. I'd give it 0 if I could. Bring back the old interface where video would just start downloading after one click. What a moronic move by the devs. Uninstalled.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13738674, 7 years agoIt doesn't work at all. Every time I want to download a video a prompt comes out and tells me:" Native Application is not installed. In order to download streaming videos you need to install native application. Would you like to install it now?"
So totally use less.
I'm on Firefox 58.0.1 on a mac

Now it only works in windows, no longer works in linux. Completely useless.

i'm sorry for you.
Are you strong enough to push FF developers to develop browsers instead of destroy browsers?
i will use FF 56 and ANT until it is possible, then if FF is not fixed back to a working browser i will switch to another browser.
I think Mozilla is programmig to close business and hey put FF add-ons developer in the mud.
Careful!!!Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13671966, 7 years agoTook a perfectly good app and turned it into a piece of sh*t.! You used to be able to download just by selecting from a drop down menu, now it opens up a browser window. Also, you used to be able to retain the original file name, can't any more. Finally, it used to save to it's own folder, doesn't any more. Total POS, will be looking for a new extension tomorrow that will work. Don't see the point in wasting any more time on an app that they apparently didn't bother to test before releasing, or didn't give a d*mn if it worked or not.

Possibility to change the destination folder for downloads will be added in one of further AVD releases.

- Rated 2 out of 5by LacAbEla, 7 years agoSince they started to use that installer downloads are incredibly slow (~60 KB/s). Downloading videos at that speed takes way too much time.
