But it's working without companion in my cases. Good enough, that's why 4/5

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19711783, 3 hours agoVersion 10 seemed slower than version 9 so I did a test. I downloaded a file with version 10 and then installed version 9 again and downloaded the same file. Version 9 downloaded the file in half the time.

- Rated 5 out of 5by ksparks0031, 17 hours agoI've tried many different versions of extensions similar to this. This is by far the best one. It sees links to media that no other extension does. It seems to deal with m3u8 pretty well too which is usually what other extensions are lacking. I'd recommend this to anyone that needs it before anything else.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Tony Di Colore, 21 hours agoMuch better than many extensions and even many downloader programs. Very simple and no unnecessary words. I hope the developers continue like this and don't get caught up in the pursuit of maximum profit, as often happens after asking us to give five stars in reviews. For now, after following the developers' improvements for many years (I've had VDH practically forever), I have nothing but praise.

- Rated 5 out of 5by EDuard75, 2 days agoI really liked this add-ons. A simple, intuitive interface. One remark! Users from Russia do not have the opportunity to pay for the full version ((( . Well, personally, I have not succeeded yet ....
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18359833, 2 days agoIt works, yes. But I need to configure it well. I miss the old settings page, that old complex settings pages. I even have a backup of them. Where are them advanced settings? Did you forget us advanced users?

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12573356, 2 days agoVideo DownloadHelper has become one of those rare tools that quietly slips into your workflow and then you wonder how you ever managed without it. It’s fast, reliable, and refreshingly straightforward. Whether grabbing a clip for offline viewing, saving a tutorial for later, or archiving content you don’t want to lose, it handles the job with zero fuss.
A few things that really stand out:
• Effortless detection of videos on a page — it just pops up when something is available, no digging or guessing.
• Consistent performance even on sites that other downloaders struggle with.
• Clear options for format and quality, so you always get exactly what you need.
• Smooth integration with the browser, making it feel like a natural extension rather than a bolt‑on tool.
It’s one of those add‑ons that simply works, day in and day out, and makes the web feel more flexible and user‑friendly. If you want a dependable way to save online videos, this extension is an easy recommendation. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19707803, 2 days ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by deltaphi0, 2 days agoI have been using this add-on for almost a full year now, I got so many uses out of it. From simply downloading tv series I want to watch later, to using it to find radio/streaming links to use for VLC. It never gave me a single problem, so of course 5 starts.
- Rated 5 out of 5by John B, 3 days agoHas worked on every video I have tried. It has even improved the experience on linux where before it required a helper add-on. Now it does it all in the extension itself.
