It's super easy to install and use. For the new versions of Firefox Quantum they have added a companion app, but you really don't need it and the downloads work perfectly fine without it. I found the companion app to be more cumbersome and added extra steps, so I uninstalled it. When you find a video you want, simply click on the VDH icon in the toolbar, select the file you want (bigger file size usually means higher resolution), and tell it where to save it.
