by Dangrath, 2 years agoNext to uBlock, this is the most useful addon I have ever used.
I have downloaded hundreds of vids and it just works.
Yes there are sites like Youtube where it adds a giant QR code to try and passively force you to pay them a subscription (lifetime sub for $28, not a bad deal if you always use it, js), but for the sites I use, there is no watermark.
Also META constantly does changes to prevent downloads, so it currently doesn't work on FB and insta, but it has worked in the past and it may work again in the future.
The new update made things cleaner and more intuitive and the interface desperately needed it.
I dont mind installing the co-app for it to function seamlessly; its installed once and requires update once in a blue moon, its open source and everyone can check its code on github.
Thank you creators of this addon.
Edit: The newest update (Nov 2025) - The extension doesnt need a third party app to function anymore (Co App), the interface is cleaner and its more likely to grab a video for download, and is more faster.
The downside of the update is that we cannot select the download folder, but instead it uses browsers default download folder. Shame, but I dont mind that much, as the pros outweigh the cons imo.
