- Rated 3 out of 5by Jim, 3 hours agoGood program, but the newest version made the experience worse for existing users. Settings were reset, an additional download is now required, the naming convention changed, the download folder changed to Firefox's default with no way to change it, and animated media previews are enabled by default & sometimes still show up when they're turned off. There's also a small number of sites this extension doesn't work with, where other video downloaders do seem to work.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Der Frame, 5 hours agoMake it back the way it was before. You could save directly and specify a file name. Now, if you download three files, you first have to check what you've actually downloaded. It's completely ridiculous.
Stop making it worse. It was fine the way it was. Full stop! - Rated 5 out of 5by Ralf, 6 hours agoThank You for Great Job Building the 10. Works fast and exact on Firefox/Linux MX
- Rated 5 out of 5by macmoebius, 6 hours agothe latest version, v10 (i think), is great! it fixed several inconveniences in previous versions.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Goran, 6 hours agoV10 is absolute garbage. It removed very well working options, like downloading in browser for an options hidden, non configurable, unstable, just all in all bad programm.
Had 27 of my first 30 downloads in V10 be unusuable!
Just use 9.5. That one actually works and if you use the download in browser function you can resume downloads when they get interrupted, which you CAN NOT in the new version!
Any slight hicucp and the file is ruined. - Rated 1 out of 5by Dima, 10 hours agoThe v10 update wants a new permission: locks on all open tabs - something like that, but that's too many permissions. Thanks, but no, I'm staying on v9.

- Rated 3 out of 5by gmx_add_ons, 21 hours agoThe new download preview feature has made it easier to identify tasks.
This next section contains our requests.
We request that the download quality settings can be fixed/set as a default on the selection screen during download, as was possible in the previous version.
Additionally, we would like to still be able to specify a custom/dedicated download directory, just like in the previous version.
If multiple download files share the same name, we request that consecutive numbering (e.g., "xxx-1.mp4") be appended to the file name, following the order in which the download entries were made, just like in the previous version. If sequential numbering is not possible, we request that the download process strictly follow the order in which the tasks were registered. When file naming is dependent on the browser, the order can become irregular (unpredictable) when multiple download entries are made simultaneously. - The upgrade has made it less functional. Unfortunately, while it was previously possible to assign the window title to the file name, it seems that the file name is now being retrieved from a different location than before, and the file name is not being set correctly. Please fix this.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Archangel_Luzifer, a day agoDownloads run nicely, is updated quickly if it does not work after changes. Very nice extension.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15746352, a day agoyou should write a blog post "how to eff-up a pretty good downloader in one update" I noted this change earlier in the chromium browsers like Brave etc, Yesterday the same crud was pushed into Firefox. I don't understand the thinking, it's awful, going backwards in functionality (apparently) I've removed the five stars I put up not long after this addon first appeared and replaced it with this. Looks like the number of decent downloaders gets even smaller. Remove it and put the earlier one back up
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13588480, a day agoAs others have stated, version 10 came with a fresh coat of paint and widescale destruction of previously working functionality. I, and many others have had to downgrade until these issues are fixed.
Guys... you have a beta testing branch. Isn't this the kind of stuff that should be staying there, until it's actually functional? - Rated 3 out of 5by Booff, 2 days agoVideo Download Helper was the number 1 extension for downloads but the December automatic update killed the app. I had to download to version 9.5.0.2 and turn off automatic updates. Downloads now work again. Fix the problem with version 10.0.271.2 and I will give you 5 stars again.
- Rated 3 out of 5by lolboop, 2 days agoV10 removes %pathname from smart naming makes one click saving a multistep operation(not sure if CSS selectors can replace, beyond my current knowledge), not sure why it was removed, you would think basic path names would still be useful.
Back on 9.5 until it's fixed, I find an alternate extension or workout CSS selectors for pathname. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
