by Firefox user 19685908, 8 days agoFunctional extension, but requires a native companion app to mux HLS streams on the basis that it needs a real FFmpeg binary. ffmpeg.wasm exists and runs entirely in-browser via WebAssembly and other extensions use it for exactly this. The companion app installs a native binary with filesystem access for a problem that has a well-known sandboxed solution. Worth reconsidering due to this imo kinda of odd choice.
Yes it has smart naming, but given the 2 tier UI scheme, and buggy implementation, it's attractive on paper, and less so in usage.
