- Rated 2 out of 5by breakblade, 4 days agonever works if the vid is rated 18+. and more, needs to pay money to download more than 6 vids.
- Rated 2 out of 5by CreepyFace, 6 days agoThe add-on works great, but I miss the dwhelper default folder. I absolutely want it back, preferably immediately! The current download behavior of the add-on is completely unacceptable!
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19805240, 7 days agoI'm utterly dumbfounded on how this team wants to fix what isn't broken, ever since the update a few months back none of the UI has been right and it is now a chore to use unless you are downloading one video at a time. For example, downloads used to reserve a spot in the folder before finishing, this would help greatly with videos part of a series that save as the same name. With the old style they would auto number in order. Now its all based on which video finishes the download first. With the old version I could choose where I want my files to download to. Now it only defaults to the generic browser download folder, plus a dedicated folder if I want. Some options and things may have improved on one side but at the cost of another. I've gone back to the older version plenty but it seems it is slowly losing support and some downloads just won't operate correctly. I bought a license for VDH and was excited to do so until that update. Now I am just upset... I will gladly change this review when they actually listen to those of us who want it to work similar to how it previously has.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19685908, 8 days agoFunctional extension, but requires a native companion app to mux HLS streams on the basis that it needs a real FFmpeg binary. ffmpeg.wasm exists and runs entirely in-browser via WebAssembly and other extensions use it for exactly this. The companion app installs a native binary with filesystem access for a problem that has a well-known sandboxed solution. Worth reconsidering due to this imo kinda of odd choice.
Yes it has smart naming, but given the 2 tier UI scheme, and buggy implementation, it's attractive on paper, and less so in usage. - Rated 2 out of 5by cheesburgr, 9 days agonew interface is a pain; results populate faster than they can be used, and the "trash can" button that used to clear results now only clears completed downloads
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13327813, 21 days agoIt seems like half the time it just gives up downloading before reaching the end of the video. They've gotten a bit stingy as well by limiting how many you can download for free. I mean it's fine to have a premium version but would have been nice to know up front. Given it's so glitchy I'm not buying it.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18356405, 25 days agoIt works about 1 out of 20 times. Also you can only download 1 video in 2 hours without paying for the plugin. Are you really expecting me to pay for the virtually not working thing? Pathetic.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18359833, 2 months agoIt works, yes. But I need to configure it well. I miss the old settings page, that old complex settings pages. I even have a backup of them. Where are them advanced settings? Did you forget us advanced users?
- Rated 2 out of 5by webdma, 2 months agoСпециально залогинился, чтобы поставить честные 2 звезды, за QR в видео. Покупайте лицензию, я значит трафик трачу, качаю, а потом узнаю, что они мне там код воткнули". Думаю удалить, так как только для аудио, вероятно теперь сгодится. Стало мусорным расширением.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19645153, 3 months agoI've been using this application for years but after the 12\23 update, the downloader is completely broken. It will not download anything.
It will start the process and it says there is an error and the video could not be completed. Hopefully this error gets fixed asap. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19636693, 3 months agoyeah i been using this for years, but since the last update it just takes the firefox-downloadfolder without a way to change it. I will have to look for something else. i dont want to move everything manually from my desktop, thanks. Who thought this was a good idea? I just love it when updates make everything worse, so great wow.
- Rated 2 out of 5by KauaLe, 3 months agoInitially, it is working fine, but later it is adding QR code which is much greater in size. We have alternate add ons for video downloader.
DO NOT INSTALL IT. - Rated 2 out of 5by Mamroth, 3 months agoFor some time ive been using this, its just bad. Just get separate windows program not browser extension ( media downloader from github works better than that) If i remember correctly for most files you need to download program anyway and you dont know if your video will have paywall at some point by having huge QR code in it

- Rated 2 out of 5by Duriel7, 4 months agoExcellent module, fast and convenient, easy to use and works on many many video players. Repost because : December 2025 update is aweful as of now, let's wait and see if functionalities come back.
- Rated 2 out of 5by nothing, 4 months agoThe download speed has been dramatically dropped since the last update. It's very slow now. Big disappointed.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17778683, 4 months agoI'm, unfortunately, downgrading my rating of this extension...and I have a premium license (Pay once, use forever). Used to be great, easy to use, and worked on most sites I visited.
Then issues like the watermark and conversion tool controversy, etc.. And now, for me, it is downloading from fewer and fewer sites, often only giving me a partial download, or even an error.
I have removed and reinstalled several times, but it hasn't improved to its original functionality.
Disappointing for a product I loved and reccomended to many others. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19574196, 5 months agoРаньше всё скачивал, сейчас с половины сайтов не качает. Лучше Vee Vee юзать.
