When it works, It's a Great tool... but it often loses connections and downloads files without any acceleration. Remember FLASHGET It downloaded concurrent threads and made downloads SO fast... this extension seems to download video 1 Thread at a time. Then it LOSES the connection with NO opportunity to resume where you left OFF!
In the last 20 attempts to download videos, I have been successful at about 27%... just about 1 in 4 attempts will get you a full file. Many times you get only a PARTIAL file... play it and compare it to original video (online) and you will find video is cut short. So you have to START over again with the download. Somehow the Online video doesn't have this problem, even when played while you download! Still, it is BETTER than nothing..although JDownloader suprised me one time and downloaded the stream without issue!
IF only JDOwnloader would do this type of downloading by default!
BTW- Can you make a version for ANDROID version of FIREFOX? Someone already has made an extension for FIREFOX for ANDROID and is using the same name for their extension but their's SUCKS! IT won't recognize any video links playing or Not! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16094004, a day agodas ist ok! der fehler lag an einem anderen addon.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19831161, 16 days agoI've been using the extension for years. Its great. The only complaint is that i bought it for chrome. Found out, after the fact, it couldn't download YouTube videos on chrome. So, I decided to use it on Firefox, and it turns out it requires separate licensing. So, basically, you have to buy it twice.
And, unlike most of the 1-star reviews, I don't think there is anything wrong with paying for a useful service, but I think having to pay twice because you are using a different browser (especially because I just would have got for Firefox in the first place if I knew I couldn't download YouTube videos on chrome) is a little much. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19909431, 19 days agoWorks on a lot of sites. Doesn't on Youtube. Quality and format of downloads are very good.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13799469, 22 days agoNice extension. Would be better if you could rename the files before they are downloaded instead of when they are about to be saved. This way you could rename a bunch of files in advance instead of waiting to do them individually. Also could you also download subtitles and any preview images of the video.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Edgar Castelan, a month agoLa versión 9.5.0.3 es muy estable y súper efectiva, de lo mejor que hay. Lamentablemente la nueva actualización no funciona y echa a perder todo su trabajo anterior.
Version 9.5.0.3 is very stable and extremely effective, one of the best out there. Unfortunately, the new update doesn't work and ruins all your previous work. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19846427, a month ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18037296, 2 months agoA bit contentious with Youtube (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, though with how stingy Youtube is that's hardly surprising) but overall the only extension you'll need for downloading videos from all sorts of places and all sorts of players. Highly recommend if you're interested in preserving, well, Anything, especially with how gatekeep-y the Web has become.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Wind of change, 2 months agoVideo DownloadHelper is a very useful tool for my needs, and I highly recommend it. There are a few situations where I can’t always download videos—I’m not sure why. That’s why I’m giving it only 4 stars.
