I have used this add-on with no trouble for about a ear now. it works very well with the vast majority of embedded video sites and downloads the video into a private folder. Well worth the download.

VideoDownloadHelper es sumamente eficaz para descargar videos insertos en numerosas páginas web, incluyendo YouTube. Con sólo presionar el botón de la barra de herramientas se abre un menú con varias opciones de descarga para poder elegir cual video descargar, en qué formato y con qué calidad, en caso de que estas alternativas estén disponibles.
Permite descargar a una carpeta por omisión o a una carpeta de tu elección.
En la versión de pago existen además opciones adicionales de formato de descarga y de conversión.
Habitualmente descarga en formatos mp4 y webm. También puede descargar imágenes.

Still an excellent resource for teachers: saving videos to share in small community settings that don't have internet access. A valuable tool.

It was a good add-on back in a day. Now not only it requires to download an external app which wasn't needed befor, but it's also adds that stupid QR-code on videos which were downloaded through companion app. Uninstalled after 8 years of use.

This add-on does exactly what it says it does. Seamlessly integrating video and animated gif downloads with firefox. There are a few that don't work, like those from facebook. But there are workarounds.
