It turns out you have to purchase a license to use this piece of software. Otherwise, it would put a watermark on all videos you are downloading. It is not clear at all, until you have already installed it and downloaded a video. Thank you for wasting my time.

Despite the suggestion, i'm going with Great, but not perfect. Why? Incredibly easy to use, quite reliable over any type of connection, and accurate reproduction. Only drawbacks are inherent in youtube and videos in general (filesize, and time to download at higher resolutions).

I have tried over a dozen video download programs and this one has consistently been the best. Various changes take place in video handling on the Internet which often 'break' these down-loaders. It seems that Video DownloadHelper is the first to 'recover' from such changes.

The interface is pretty good though it is UI issues that stop me from providing a 5-star rating. As with any 'drop-down' space is limited. However, the lack of ability to find more detail about choices presented means that often it is just a 'crap shoot' about which option will both work and provide the type of download that you want.

Not that content producers or content suppliers will read reviews but on the oft chance that they might...
Some of us live is rural or semi-rural areas where Internet service is neither really fast or consistent. Attempting to watch many videos on-line is really difficult because of frequent delays. Thus, downloading and watching a local copy with a video player is the only practical way to view many videos.

Usually I don't need to keep a lot of information in my local PC, because now days almost everything is reachable thru Internet. But for some special videos and tutorials I need to have in hand, I've been using this extension and it helped me a lot. It is light and reliable, intuitive and fast. A good complement for my everyday browser. Thanks devs, you did a great job.

DownloadHelper is the easiest web video downloader I've used. It is also able to download from more places including youtube.com in the Firefox version.

I would not use it with the vdhcoapp. vdhcoappis an application providing the Video DownloadHelper add-on with with additional capabilities. Unless I needed those capabilities. I wouldn't use because it because it slows downloads to much.

I don't think it's quite as simple a process as the download add-ons I used to use with earlier versions of Firefox, but hey, it WORKS with v63! Downloading multiple files at one time can be a little flaky, it's quite difficult to tell which set of downloads refers to which file, but particularly if you're downloading your files individually, it does the job and does it well.
