This is possibly the best in browser video down loader I have used. Recent updates have made it better. I have 4 video download plug ins in Firefox. This is the one that works most of the time.

Two stars because while it does what it's supposed to (mostly), it has severe limitations for free users and - this is much worse - it can slow down various sites. YouTube especially.
It's gotten to the point where I keep the extension disabled until I need it.

Downloading a companion app is required. Privacy policy nagging included. If your download requires "converting" you can either pay $28.50(USD) for a "converting license" or deal with a giant QR barcode in the video. Perfect example of a once great extension gone bad.

I have used VideoDownloader for many years on many Linux Distros, and have had very few failures. Usually my fault! You should use the 'co-app' which uses the latest versions of ffmpeg for better quality.
