It allows either the browser or the custom helper to do the actual video download. I believe the reason it is the best is that it uses local resources instead of attempting to oversimplify the interface for the user (requiring remote server, etc.), but there are many reasons it is superior - customizable, merges audio-video streams, extract audio or video only, download multiple videos parallel, etc.

- Rated 5 out of 5by LumpyPumpy, a year agoI had to make an account just to review this. I am not sure what the people talking about watermarks or it not working. I do believe I needed to download a second program but it walked me through what I needed.
This works great for grabbing content from my Fans site as well as from my schooling site and has been working just fine on 75% of content out there. Sometimes you have to watch the content you are grabbing in order to grab the video you want.
Some things this doesn't work great for but I have yet to find anything better.
