Before May of 2024 this was a useful addon. Now the free version adds an obnoxious QR code to your videos, rendering its main purpose useless. You also need to use their companion app, something they've been pushing for a while but didn't require. This used to be the best video downloader. Such a shame to see it ruined like this.

The latest update requires you do download their questionable companion app. Uninstalled, and you should do the same.

Used to be able to download without the damn coapp now you need it if not you get the lovely QR code on your video.

pay or have a QR code that covers a decent chunk of the video? No thanks.

This is so hard to use, very hard to figure out plus the typeface is so small. For the first time I removed a new version to use an older one and turned off updates. Sad

It doesn't work any more. Too pity. I removed it.

Another case of dev chasing money and completely trashing on the userbase. Take a look at the github page to see them circlejerk. I recommend checking out other options instead of using this broken mess. If you want to see other reviews, filter to only 1 star to see actual reviews instead of 5 star bots.

I hope whoever at Mozilla is in charge of putting the recommended label on addons will review this update and consider removing it from the list of recommended extensions.

The new Version is bad. You can no longer see the quality of the downloads. Every video and photo from the respective website is displayed. It takes an eternity until you find the video to download

Every downloaded video has a MASSIVE QR code shoved into it to try to force you to pay for this extension. It also requires an invasive additional program to function.

I've been using vdh for years, but the most recent release is just completely dysfunctional.

Effectively useless unless you're willing to pay $26, they add a giant watermark in all conversions. You also need to have an external app downloaded for it to work in the first place.

DO NOT UPDATE. Awful May 22nd 2024 Update. Used it for almost a year now. Used to be 5 star extension/app. New updated interface takes 7 seconds to load, versus the 1 second before. Larger videos which require the companion app now have about 1/4 the screen covered by a QR code. Unusable for out-of-browser videos, 7 times slower for browser downloads.
