Video DownloadHelper is a great app, easy to us and makes downling vedios a sinch! I highly reccommend it to everyone!

I was dubious of installing this at first as I'd encountered so many downloaders that promised to deliver and either failed on various movie files or just failed completely. Not DownloadHelper - this has downloaded from so many streaming sources I don't think I've found a source it can't yet download from. It even manages those YouTube videos that many others can't handle.

Ich bin so froh, dass es den Video DownloadHelper gibt! Ich hab mir schon viele spannende Filme und Dokus runtergeladen. Und Hörspiele, noch und nöcher!

a must have add on. works very well and reliably. one of the best if not the best, video downloader

how to set up
left click the 3 balls on top right of browser
click the gear symbol "settings"
click behavior and change the default download location
also you will need to install the companion app ( this is open source ).

it downloads standard video files no QR code and FAST ( both free and registered version )

it downloads video in ADP and HLS and DASH format.
registered version is FAST after download completes

( free version puts QR code in top left corner and takes a lot of time ( hours to aggregate or convert) )

I've used it for years and there are updates and bug fixes. Finally brought the license :-)

A superb and indispensable program, it's really easy to use, just start the video playing, click on the Video DownloadHelper icon, then scroll down to select what size you want to download from the dropdown list.

Oh, it's really very good. Amongst its many talents, it allows the watching of videos where streaming isn't possible (e.g. old machines or poor internet connections). New features are thoughtfully added, bugs addressed, and it's totally free if you are a Linux user. Hurray!

Even further down the line (late 2020), VDH is still helping me to reduce my environmental impact by using old machines that others retire as 'unusable' and using VDH to download once rather than streaming repeatedly and jerkily.
