As soon as I load up a private window in firefox, both firefox windows no longer connect through the proxy. Once the private window is close, the normal window loads instantly and works again

As a first step in troubleshooting the issue it would be best if you could try reinstalling the extension and checking if there are no other add-ons/extensions that could interfere with the NordVPN one. - complains "there is something wrong with my connection" even though I can browse normally without any VPN connection
- does not connect to anything (i.e. takes forever "connecting" just to fail in the end)
- connects but then literally blocks all possible traffic... cannot load a single page when it's onDeveloper response

They removed Socks and http servers for the country I used for years without notifying. So my only option to using a proxy in the browser only is this addon (without putting my whole connection over a vpn tunnel through the windows app).
Guess what, you can't pick which server you want to connect on this addon, only the country. Not only that, but disconnecting and reconnecting will connect you to the same exact server! So if the site does not work with given server, that's it, you can't select a different one from the same country.
I would rate 0 if I could, stay away guys. I have been a client of theirs for 5+ years but not anymore. Removing features overnight and forcing you to use this terrible addon is unprofessional.Developer response
posted 4 years agoHello. At the moment our SOCKS5 protocol is receiving an optimization rework. While this rework is being performed, the majority of servers have this protocol shut down until completion of the rework. You can still find some SOCKS5 servers to use here: https://nordvpn.com/servers/tools/, after that you may connect to the specific server via our application. -G.M. - Rated 3 out of 5by Einhornyordle, 4 years agoWhy does the add-on require me to allow it to run in private windows? What if I don't want to use it in private windows anyway? Does it just want to collect some data when I use a private window, which exists to prevent tracking to a certain level? Kinda ironic for a VPN/Proxy Service...
Edit because of the Developer response: "You may choose to enable or disable this permission when installing the add-on, as well as in the Menu > Extensions section." No, I can't and that's the issue: If I do this the extension won't work any more, if I click on it it just tells me that the "Permission to run in private windows is required by Firefox for the extension to work." even in regular, non private/incognito windows.Developer response

Barely works.
edit: More information in the litany of other complaints:
- Logs out frequently
- Speeds are super slow and unable to reset or connect to another server in this app.
- Often freezes and at a load, requires full close of all browsers to fix it
- "Failed to connect. Try again later." error for no discernible reason
- unable to select individual servers (like the desktop app) - heck, unable to see the server name to check if that server is good or bad. No way to just "connect to the next best server" if one doesn't work. You're left with disconnecting and reconnecting...
- Good lord are the speeds slow. Holy cow. Just thought I'd add that in a 2nd time.Developer response
