If I'd known downloading videos was this easy I would have looked into it a long time ago.
You can download the video in the browser by just clicking the extension's icon. The whole process took me maybe 30 seconds. - Rated 5 out of 5by gdwarner, 4 years agoThis one is one of the two remaining extensions I use to download videos, and I have tried many.
I think the only "issue" I have would be with the way the "Companion App" works, in that I can download a video, but getting it to save the video to a specific folder doesn't seem to work for me ... so to get around that, I have a shortcut to the appropriate folder on the desktop, which allows me to locate the file quickly and move it to wherever I need it to be.
It would be nice to be able to rename the file before downloading it that way, though ... but again, I don't have to use that function very often.
... and yes, I do recommend this one, despite the compliant. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12145280, 4 years ago

First, you can't use it natively in the browser. You need to install a separate app just to download the videos. Oh, and god forbid you want to convert said video. Then they'll put a nasty watermark until you pay their exorbitant fee for the "conversion" license.
It would be one thing if they were up front about this stuff, but they only reveal this stuff in bits and pieces as you get further and further in the process.
At this point, a malware-infested youtube downloader site seems a more attractive option.
Or just use VLC, like I should have in the first place.
